You Make My Heart Sing Ukulele Josh Card

I've realized with this paper pack, I tend to use the same prints.  But I love bright colors and that's what I love about summer the most.  Though I'm fully happy to head into fall, I'll be posting the rest of my Hawaiian cards until my mom's anniversary, which is my normal time to post Hawaiian cards anyways.

Don't worry...I still have fall, Halloween, and other things to post as fall creeps in.  I have a ton of birthdays around this time and it's normally one of my most favorite times of the year, as we're heading into conference time for my day job.  It's always fun to see all my co-workers!

I hope you all have a great Monday! It's back to work for me and I'm super excited to see one of my old co-workers today. It's so hard to believe that its been two years since Josh left already! For those who know me well, I was very sad to lose such a great co-worker when he moved to Virginia. It will be wonderful to see how he's doing and catch up!

SCRS Challenge #88 - Sunshine Challenge and Watermelon Rin Card

Welcome to Week 2 of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps Challenge #88! We appreciate you taking the time to join our challenge and look forward to seeing your creations each week. You have until Sunday, 9/23/12 @ 9 PM PST to play along with the current challenge which is an inspiration challenge ...

Our challenge is open to all players. Each challenge a random winner will be chosen, and the winner of each challenge will receive a fantastic SCRS rubber stamp! In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!

I know it's pink and not yellow or orange...but it's bright and cheery.  I know it's still kindof grey and drab, but as my friend Suzanne said to me this weekend, it's Watermelon in Seattle, lol.  Though the sun is still shinning, summer here is pretty much over.

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS post. If you use an online gallery (e.g. Splitcoast), please also use the keywords SCRSC88 and SparkleCreations (no spaces). If you have a Facebook account and are a fan of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, you can also upload there. Deadline for challenge #88 is Sunday, September 23rd @ 9 PM PST.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Mahalo Hula Anya Card

I caved...and finally gave into this fun scenic patterned paper.  I was really inspired by Alice, Sem, and Kerri, who all made summer SCRS cards with this paper pack.  I also love how the blue skirt turned out!

Our next stop in Hawaii was Hilo.  It was a real quick stop, since all I really did was visit my mom's and grandparent's graves and eat lunch with a couple of my cousins.  This was the most interesting stop of my trip, since I learned a lot of the family drama that's been going on.  I can definitely see now why my mom was never really close to her side of the family.

We did stop by Rainbow Falls though and walked around a bit.  We also went to Big Island Candies.  If you're a chocolate fan, this is definitely a must!  It was neat to see all the workers making candy and cookies.

Well, I hope you all have a lovely Saturday.  I'm going to an Operation Write Home card party and then I'm going to a night crop at Impress.  It'll be a nice day of craftiness!

Aloha Happy Birthday Hula Girl Lucy Card

It was my friend Jenn's birthday yesterday.  She's also going to Hawaii this fall, so I decided to be festive and make her a card with Hula Girl Lucy.  I've seen a ton of cards with no black lines and I finally jumped into trying out this technique.  It's doubled my coloring time, and I'm not sure if I'm really into it or not, lol. If you wanna try, I would really recommend using a less detailed image.

For the inside of the card, I decided to use Lucy's partner in vacation, Ukulele Josh.  Graphic 45 isn't really my style, but I knew as soon as I saw this paper pack, I needed to have it.

My cousin Stef and her family took us up to the North Shore.  There were turtles out, so it was neat to see them.  After playing at the beach, we stood in a huge line for shave ice!  I forget how popular it is, lol.

Of course the coffee lover that I am, I needed to get the new Hawaii gift card.  Stef got us leis as soon as we got in and Brent wanted a picture of us with them before we left.  Though we only had a couple of days in Oahu, it was great to see my cousins!!

I hope you all have a great Thursday!  Who's ready for Grey's and Person of Interest to be back?!?
