Congratulations Engaged Lucy Card and Goal Updates

Brent's long time college friend Cody got engaged a couple weeks ago.  I was thrilled to use this Lucy for her true purpose. :)  I don't normally color Lucy as a blonde, but Kendall, Cody's fiance is blonde, so I know she'll love it once she gets it.  I haven't seen Cody and Kendall since January...so hopefully we'll plan a dinner or game night soon.

Cody and Kendall started dating right before Brent and I got married.  I'm very happy for them, though it's adding another wedding to me list, lol.  Luckily by the time I start their invitations, I'll be long done with my brother's.  They are planning for June 2013.

Before I check in with my normal goals, do you remember the A List of 30: Things I Will Do This Year that I made?  Well, I'm happy to cross off a couple of things. :)

13. Learn to cook something new

I found this recipe on one of my couponing blogs.  I know it's something really simple, but considering that I work 2 full time jobs, I don't really have a lot of time to cook.  When I cook, I usually cook 2-3 different things at the same time so Brent and I have 3 days worth of food.  Brent and I love salmon, so I thought it would be worth trying.  Brent didn't love it, but I sure did!

Ingredients: Salmon, Soy Sauce, Lemon Pepper, Seasoning Salt, and Miracle Whip

Lay down a layer of every ingredient that's listed above. Be sure that you have put a layer of foil down for easy clean up. Now it is ready to broil. Place it in your oven on the top rack and broil on low-med for 15-20 minutes. Or bake for 10-15 at 350ยบ. How do you know when Salmon is done? Look for a change in color from a translucent bright pink to a more opaque whiter pink. When it’s somewhat firm to the touch, pull it out. Feel the salmon when its raw, and you should be able to see the texture of it, when its cooked its not soft and spongy anymore, its firm, but still has some give to it. Test it with a fork and it should be flaky and easy to open. If your fork comes out wet keep baking.

20. Play free Bingo

My friend Sheila and her family took me to go play free Bingo.  I actually won, but I won a set of silverware.  I'm not complaining, since it was FREE, lol.  But I really wanted the pancake griddle that some other guy won.  Sorry this pic isn't that great...but gotta love my rainbow silverware set. :)

It's the beginning of the month and it's time to check in with my goals.  I feel like I've been so busy, yet not being productive.  I will be busy in June work wise, so I hope to keep up!

Work
  • Assistant Manager Workshop
  • Vault Teller Training - Canadian
  • Technical Writing Class
No progress in any of these big projects and unfortunately due to new compliance regulations, my project priorities have shifted.  I just had my performance review and am happy to say that it went well.  We are getting ready to shift our department again, as we're hiring 2 new employees. :)

Sparkle Creations
  • Get new wholesale accounts
  • Sales goal for each month - January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
  • More efficient in costs
  • Teach card classes
Now that I'm not carpooling with Brent, I seem to function better on my old schedule.  I'm slowly getting things in order and creating new ways for me to be more efficient in both of my jobs.

Personal
  • Take Yoga classes
  • More efficient in costs - January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
  • Project Life
  • Utilize my iPhone
  • Visit my mom's grave
My couponing is going well.  This month I spent $104.20 and saved $145.07 with coupons and store savings.  Shopping down in Portland with lower prices in general and no sales tax did help me out this month.  Plus, I was able to do multiple rounds of double coupons since I was with my step-mom and niece.  I wouldn't normally have that many newspapers. :)

Well, I hope you all have a lovely Thursday!

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!  It's back to work for me!

I Dare You 2 Sparkle Glitter Bean Card

As soon as Jess showed me her at CHA in January, I knew I had to have her.  You all know I'm a sucker for stamps with my name in them. :)  I just wanted to do something fun and different, so I went for blue hair.  I absolutely love how it turned out.

While I was down in Portland, I bought corsage pins and beads to make my own stick pins.  I think this will definitely become a new obsession for me.

Don't forget, today is the last day of the Memorial Day SALE in the Sparkle Creations Store.  Most of the stamps are 20% off in the store.  There's no code, the prices are marked on sale in the store.

I hope you're all having a great Memorial Day weekend!  I've been busy with guests visiting us, but it's always great to see friends who we don't get to see often.  I'll be back tomorrow with my next SCRS challenge card.

Celebrate Today Cocktail Emily, My Coupon Savings and Shopping Finds

I've gone through my card sample inventory and I really need to stock up on new cards for CHA.  I thought it would be fun to try something new and I pop-dotted 3 layers of Emily onto this card.  It's hard to see the dimension in the photo, but it's really neat looking in real life.

I decided on more of a pink, green, and black theme for this card.  It took a lot of work and coloring, but I love how the card came out.

I went home this last week to get measured for my bridesmaid dress.  My brother and soon to be SIL are getting married August 11th. :)  Since there's no sales tax in Oregon, I always try to save some of shopping for while I'm down there.  It's not really worth the gas, but since I would go visit my family regardless, it works out well for me.

I've been holding off on the exclusive Joann's Basic Grey paper sets.  All scrapbook supplies were 40% off this last weekend and I was able to get two 6x6 pads and 4 sets of embellishments for $16.  I really hope Basic Grey will release more of their stuff to Joann's.  :)

Albertson's had double coupons this weekend and I wasn't about to miss out!  So, I went out and bought a few copies of the Oregonian and clipped my coupons.  I already knew what I was planning on getting, so it was pretty quick and easy.  The only thing I was bummed about was that I only got a $1 off of 4 bottles for the BBQ Sauce and other regions got $1 off of 2 bottles.  So, I didn't save as much as I would of liked, but worked it out as best as I could.

I was able to double 3 sets of coupons and I had additional coupons for everything I bought.  With Albertson's store savings and coupons, I saved 81.3%.  I paid about $12 for all of this and without any coupons or store savings, I would of paid about $65.

If you average the price out, it's about $0.50 a bottle.  But not all things are equal, lol.  I was able to get the teriyaki sauce for $0.07 but the mayo was still about $1.49.  I'm trying to catch up on life and get everything together.  I hope you all have a great Tuesday!

I hope you enjoy our new release and have a lovely weekend!  It's actually warm and sunny here!  I  will be spending the day crafting with friends!

Shopping Emily Mother's Day Card

I usually get my step mom gift cards from Nordstroms...but this year, I got her something different.  I got her a gift card to the Body Shop and I decided to use Shopping Emily for her card this year.  Anna's favorite color is pink...and I really meant for there to be more pink, lol, but I love the purple and red.

I have a feeling that red and aqua will soon be my new favorite color combo!  I almost forgot how much I love using kraft card bases.  I will definitely be using more of these as well.

I hope you all have a lovely Friday...it's almost the weekend!
