SCRS 1st Anniversary Throwback Challenge, Surfing Oliver Card, and Goal Updates

In addition to our weekly Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps challenge, we are kicking off July with a special Anniversary Throwback Challenge! This challenge will last all month long and the winner will receive the complete August release!

Your challenge is to create a card or project using one of the Original 8 images that Sparkle released one year ago. To refresh your memory, the challenge graphic has a little snippet of each character. They are Charlotte With a Rose, Cocktail Emily, Cupcake Ruby, Lantern Rin, Scooter Chloe, Surfing Oliver, Swimming Lucy and Turntable Josh.

I decided to use Surfing Oliver for this challenge.  Though I made him a blondie, I love Oliver because he reminds me of my little brother Michael.  I also used Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #123 for this.  Shaela was such a sweetheart and gave me this sentiment.  She actually gave me a small sentiment and a large sentiment! :)  So, yeah, I'll be using it twice to count, lol.

Paper: Basic Grey Lauderdale
Stamps: SCRS Surfing Oliver, sentiment is PMS
Pearls, Copics, Crystal Stickles and Rhinestones

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS post. If you use an online gallery (e.g. Splitcoast), please also use the Keywords SCRSC1YR and SparkleCreations (no spaces). If you have a Facebook account and are a fan of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, you can also upload there. Deadline for this week's challenge is Sunday, July 31st @ 9 PM PST.

It's the first of the month, so it's time to check in with my goals. I had a crazy and non-productive month.  But July is looking good and I hope to get lots done this month!

Work Goals
  • Learn Flash
  • Complete Illustrator and Photoshop Tutorials
  • Technical Writing Class
On a different note, I got promoted yesterday!  I'm super excited about it!  I also celebrate my 6 year anniversary with Moneytree this month!

SCRS Goals
  • Sell enough stamps to pay for each release - January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
  • Attend CHA
  • Copic Intermediate Certification Class
  • Post 3 Sparkle Creations cards each week - January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November, December
I really thought I was going to be short on sales this month, but you fabulous customers came through for me!  I got 4 orders on June 30th to bump me over!  I truly appreciate it and can't wait for all the fun this month!

Personal Goals
  • DSLR Photo Class
  • Visit Catherine (my bff)
  • Re-dedicating myself to making my Christmas cards and tags
  • Surprise trip for Brent's 30th birthday
I'm counting down the days til CHA, though I'm still heartbroken over Basic Grey not being there.  I will have plans for Brent's birthday next week, so I'm finally excited about it!
I hope you all have a fabulous Friday! It's almost the holiday weekend!  Anyone have any fun plans?

You Add Sparkle to my Life...My Little Firecracker

Since curious minds want to know...I currently have 15 'sparkle' sentiment stamps.  I just noticed the other day too that I don't have a set from Papertrey, so I will soon have 16, lol.  I'm always on the look out for 'sparkle' stamps, so if you ever see any - let me know!

Guilty as charged...I only bought this stamp set for the sentiment!  Though I do celebrate 4th of July, I never really make cards for this holiday.   This weekend is also mine and Brent's anniversary, but I think she's a bit too girlie for me to give to him.

Paper: BG Life of the Party
    Stamps: MFT PI Little Firecracker
Pearls, Copics, BG Petals, Felt, PTI Flower Dies, PTI Buttons, Floss, Rhinestones, and Crystal Stickles

Did you hear my ever-oh-so-sad heartbreaking news?  Basic Grey isn't having a booth at CHA this summer! {sob, sob}  But the good news is that I can see the new paper on Friday, hee, hee...  I will share what I can.  Aren't you all excited for new Christmas paper?!?

I hope you all have a great hump day!  Do you have any favorites yet for So You Think You Can Dance?

We're also sponsoring Card Positioning Systems this week and I used their sketch for my card.  Play along wtih CPS this week for a chance to win Turntable Josh and Cupcake Ruby.  My recycled item is the ribbon on my card.  I kept it from one of my prizes that I won at Impress.  My friend Lori Olive got me this sentiment a few years ago and I think it looks great with Emily!

    Paper: BG Hello Luscious
Stamps: SCRS Shopping Emily, sentiment is Unity
Pearls, Copics, Nestabilities, Ribbon, and Rhinestones

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS post. Can you believe that it's almost been a whole year since I opened Sparkle Creations? The last 18 months have been such a whirlwind! I couldn't be happier with how things have progressed and I look forward to everything else to come! Without all the support from my customers, fans, Aki, and my wonderful Design Team, I couldn't of made it! I truly appreciate all of it!

We will start our 1 year celebration this Friday on the 1st! We will be celebrating the WHOLE month of July! We have a full week of sneak peeks, a mega blog hop, special challenges, and almost everything in the store will be on SALE! You won't want to miss out on all the fun!

Mystery Monday CASEing Krista and Project 29

Today we are CASEing Krista! Check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see Krista's darling card and the rest of the DT's lovely creations!

I finally cut into my new paper!  I just love this paper pack...but I think I say that every time they release a new one, lol.  I know my card is pretty busy, but I love all the print patterns.

Paper: Basic Grey Out of Print
Stamps: TGF Elena, sentiment is from O/A set
Pearls, Copics, BG Petals, BG Brads, and Crystal Stickles

I've been way behind on my photos!  The 2nd Saturday of each month is my normal crafty day with my crafty group.  By the time everyone was heading out, I realized I never took any pictures, lol.  So, I made Suzanne and Yvonne pose for me!
The following Wednesday, I went to my friend Nona's for another crafty night with friends!  Nona took the picture of me and Jenn hard at work, lol.  We went to Grinder's for dinner and it was such a great sandwich!  I think Brent will really like this place.
My friend Sandy runs Operation Write Home and I went to one of her card making parties!  We made over 3100 cards for the troops!  It was a great day of crafting and I was so happy to hear that Sam (the gal in the picture with me) doesn't have to move to Oklahoma anymore!  She'll be staying at Fort Lewis for a few more years!
Lastly, I took this picture of Brent while he was making lunch for work.  You can tell how thrilled he is with me, lol.  I don't blame the guy...I'm like the paparazzi and I'm sure he gets tired me of taking pictures of him all the time!
It's Monday again...so I guess that means that's back to work for me.  I'm actually teaching a class today, so it'll be a good break from the office.  I hope you all have a great day and Bachelorette is on tonight!  I'm so over Bentley...so annoying, lol.

Life Is Better When It Sparkles...

First off, I'm sorry that I've been MIA pretty much this week. Though I'm a pretty optimistic and the glass is half full type of person, I've had a very emotional distressing week. And if you know me well, it takes A LOT to get me upset...so I'm trying to be in better spirits.

Also, just a little reminder, for my SCRS newsletter subscribers!  Use your exclusive sale code for 10% off your whole purchase today!  If you missed out, there's still plenty of time to sign up for the July newsletter that goes out next week.  Head over to the SCRS blog to sign up!

    Paper: Crate Paper Emma's Shoppe
Stamps: SCRS Bicycle Chloe, sentiment is Verve
Pearls, Copics, MS Border Punch, Prima Flowers, Nestabilites, and Crystal Stickles

You can see I'm still on track with my 'sparkle' sentiments.  I am getting my hair done today, so I'm hoping that will put me in a better mood!  I hope you all have a great Saturday!

Which One Wednesday - Sketch Challenge

Today's WOW challenge is a sketch challenge!  Check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see the actual sketch and the rest of the DT's darling creations!

Okay, I'm back on the sparkle wagon, lol.  I thought it would be funny to have such a nice and cheery sentiment with Abbey, who is so dark and creepy.  I don't really like how her skin came out...so I'll have to try again.  My ink smeared a little bit too, so I think that's another issue...

    Paper: BG June Bug
Stamps: TGF Abbey, sentiment is A Muse
Rhinestones, Pearls, Copics, Crystal Stickles, and Sassafras Lass Flower

The WOW challenge is open until next Tuesday and entries are due by 12pm CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and wins a free digi of their choice!  Please upload your challenge cards/projects to TGF Galleria > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Which One Wednesday > sketch 6.

I hope you all have a great hump day!  I'm excited for SYTYCD tonight!

SCRS Challenge #48 Sketch, Sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches, Ribbon Carousel Challenge #8 - Color My World, and Suitcase Ruby Card

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge!  We're also sponsoring Tuesday Morning Sketches as well.  Check out the SCRS blog to the actual sketch and the rest of the DT's darling creations.  Also check out TMS's blog to see more SCRS creations from their DT..

Our challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and this week's winner will receive the adorable Swimming Lucy rubber stamp. In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!

The challenge today for the Ribbon Carousel Challenge is Color My World.  We want you to use your favorite coloring medium.  Lucky for me, I almost always color on my cards nowadays and obviously my favorite is Copics. Please remember that your creation must have ribbon, bakers twine, jute twine, lace (basically anything that comes on a spool).

I decided to make a square card with the sketch and I thought a 'sparkle' sentiment wouldn't be appropriate for this, lol.  So, I'm taking a teeny weeny break.  My goal has been to try to use up as much of my woolies and bloomers that I have hoarding in my room.  I just got my new Basic Grey paper and already have new embellishments to add to the stack.  It's a condition I tell ya...

    Paper: Basic Grey Wander
Stamps: SCRS Suitcase Ruby, sentiment is TGF
Pearls, Copics, BG Woolies, Rhinestones, Crystal Stickles, Ribbon, and BG Brads

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS post. If you use an online gallery (e.g. Splitcoast), please also use the Keywords SCRSC48 and SparkleCreations (no spaces). If you have a Facebook account and are a fan of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, you can also upload there. Deadline for this week's challenge is Sunday, June 26th @ 9 PM PST.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!  Don't forget, this is the last week to get any Ruby stamps on SALE!

    Sunday, June 19, 2011

    Mystery Monday CASEing Paula

Today we are CASEing Paula.  Check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see Paula's darling card and the rest of the DT's lovely creations!  PS...my friend Jenn won last week's challenge too!

So, I decided to stay with the 'sparkle' theme, lol.  I airbrushed my pearls to make them match my card.  My B72 Copic marker seems to be more blotchy than some of my others.  Or maybe it could possibly be user error...

Paper: MME Lime Twist Happy Go Lucky
Stamps: TGF Hats Off Miss Anya, sentiment is Hero Arts
Pearls, Copics, MS Border Punch, Nestabilities, Crystal Stickles, Prima Flowers, and BG Fabric Brads

The Monday CASE contest runs until Sunday and entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of their choice!  Please post your cards in the TGF Galleria - Home > Farm Fresh Challenges 2011 > Mystery Mondays > Paula.

I don't have any Project 29 pictures for you today.  My computer crashed {again} last Monday and got wiped.  I lost all the photos I had ready to go...so I promise to have them later this week sometime.

I hope you all have a great Monday...it's back to work for me!  Bachelorette is on tonight!  I so wish this whole Bentley thing would be over with!

Farm Fresh Friday - Get Sentimental

Today's challenge is to use sentiments on your cards.  Check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's darling creations.

Since Jenn was giving me a hard time about my 'sparkle' sentiments, lol, I decided to use one. Sadly, the Cheeky that comes with this sentiment has never seen ink.  Confession #2: I have a special drawer just for 'sparkle' stamps.  I think I have the urge to have a sparkle sentiment week soon. :)

Paper: Bo Bunny Barefoot and Bliss
Stamps: TGF Surfing Anya, sentiment is from A Cheeky Xmas
EK Success Border Punch, Prima Flowers, Copics, Rhinestones, and Crystal Stickles

The FFF challenge runs until next Thursday and entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of their choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Sentimental

I hope you all have a great Friday!  It's almost the weekend!

Sunshine and Laughter with Bubble Millie

I just love how cute and darling she is.  This card turned out more simple than I had planned, but I still love it.  I feel like since Millie's body isn't centered, the card is a bit off balance.  But I love how my new Primas match her perfectly!

Paper: MME Lime Twist Life of the Party
Stamps: Karber Bubble Millie, sentiment is A Muse
Nestabilities, Pearls, Copics, Crystal Stickles, and Prima Flowers

Sorry I've been MIA...my laptop crashed again on Monday.  It ended up getting completely wiped, so I've been slowly adding stuff back.  One of the things I lost was my watermark signature.  I've always had a simple one, but decided that it was time for a change.  With the anticipation of upgrading to CS5, I hope to get a new laptop...

While I'm disappointed that the Canucks lost last night, I hope you all have a great Thursday!

SCRS Challenge #47 - Easel Card and Cupcake Ruby Card

Today's challenge is to make an easel card!  Check out the SCRS blog to see the rest of the DT's darling creations!

Our challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and this week's winner will receive the adorable Charlotte with a Rose rubber stamp. In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!

It's my friend Kari's birthday tomorrow...and I made this super fun card for her.  I always buy the matching embellishments for my Basic Grey paper and then hoard them, lol.  So I'm really proud of myself for using my embellies!

Paper: BG Life of the Party
Stamps: SCRS Cupcake Ruby, sentiment is AmyR
BG Petals, BG Brads, BG Buttons, Nestabilities, Crystal Stickles, and Copics

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS post. If you use an online gallery (e.g. Splitcoast), please also use the Keywords SCRSC47 and SparkleCreations (no spaces). If you have a Facebook account and are a fan of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, you can also upload there. Deadline for this week's challenge is Sunday, June 19th @ 9 PM PST.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!

Mystery Monday CASEing Kim Dellow and Project 29

Today we are CASEing Kim Dellow!  Check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see Kim's lovely card and the rest of the DT's darling creations!

As soon as I say this sentiment, I HAD to order it from All That Scraps.  It came in the mail on Saturday, so I actually opened my new set of stamps and used them all in the same day.  I can't tell you the last time that happened, lol.

    Paper: BG June Bug
Stamps: TGF Daisy, sentiment is AmyR
Copics, Felt, Pearls, MS Border Punch, and Crystal Stickles

Unfortunately, the TGF Gallery is still down.  So for now, you'll need to link your projects to the actual challenge post on the Farm Fresh Challenge blog.  The Monday CASE contest runs until Sunday and entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner is chosen by random draw and will win a free TGF single stamp of their choice!

I went home to Portland last week, and took Michael and Emily to see Kung Fu Panda 2.  This was Michael's first time in a theater and he did great.  My other brother, Brien, took Em to see Princess and the Frog for her first movie.

Below is Michael with his shirt on wrong, lol.  Po is his all time favorite character, but this boy cracks me up. "Sparkle...Panda eats a lot of food...and that's disgusting!"  Gotta love what comes out of child's mouth.

When Brien and I were their age, Karate Kid was so popular...and we started karate.  I stopped when I reached high school, but Brien actually has his black belt.  I think Michael may follow in his footsteps soon.  :)
My parents live on 10 acres of land...with crops, goats, and chickens.  I've heard rumors that my dad is considering getting cows, lol.  While Anna (my step-mom) was picking vegetables, and my cousin Su was tending to the chickens, our 2nd cousin Charlotte and Emily were playing.  Aren't they just hams?!?
Then it was time for me to meet Brent for our SIL's birthday.  We went to a restaurant in downtown Portland, called Brazil Grill.  The food was good, but probably not a place that I would really go to often.  It was the beginning of the Rose Festival while we were home...my favorite time of the year for Portland.  Next year I think I will bring Em and Michael to the carnival.
I hope you all have a great Monday!  It's back to work for me...and Bachelorette is on tonight!

It's realeas day and all new stamps are now available in the SCRS store!  Please click here or on the Sparkle Creations Store link above to start shopping now!

Today we're showing previews of Bicycle Chloe.  Chloe is my favorite, lol...is it okay for Mama to have a favorite?  Since she's always on the go, I thought this sentiment would go just perfect with her!  The sentiment also comes with this Chloe.  I also used Deconstructed Sketch #5 for this.

    Paper: MME Lime Twist
    Stamps: SCRS Bicycle Chloe
Nesatbilitites, Copics, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Pearls, and Twine

Farm Fresh Friday - Body Snatchers!

For today's challenge, we want you to take some of your favorite TGF stamps and switch around the heads and bodies to make a brand new character!  Check out the Farm Fresh Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's darling creations!

I honestly didn't think when I chose to use Summer.  I don't have any other gal that has her hand up to her mouth, lol!?!  So, I just opted to give Summer some nice skinny legs from Elena.  I used this month's Sketch For You To Try, though it's a bit modified.  I really didn't mean to, but I didn't realize it until after I glued down the wrong layer first.

    Paper: BG Lauderdale
Stamps: TGF Summer and Elena, sentiment is A Muse
Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Twine, MS Border Punch, Copics, and Pearls

The FFF challenges runs until Thursday, entries are due by 12 PM CST.  The winner will receive a free single TGF stamp of choice!  Please upload your challenge cards to TGF Galleria> Farm Fresh Challenges 2011> Farm Fresh Fridays 2011> Body Snatchers.

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday!  It's almost the weekend!

SCRS June Previews - Cherry Blossom Rin

Today we're showing previews of Cherry Blossom Rin.  I know a ton of you will be so excited for this new Rin!  All new stamps will be available on Saturday, June 11, 2011.

I decided to paper piece Rin's kimono with some Asian print paper I got at the stamp fair awhile back.  I know this color scheme isn't summer-y at all, but I secretly love orange...shhh, don't tell green, lol.

    Paper: SU, Asian Print Paper
    Stamps: SCRS Cherry Blossom Rin
Nestabilities, Copics, Twine, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Pearls, and CTMH Bigger Brads

SCRS June Previews - Karber Breakfast Leslie and Sponsoring Sweet Sketch Wednesday

This week SCRS is sponsoring Sweet Sketch Wednesday. Check out their blog to see the actual sketch and more darling SCRS creations from their DT!  Play along with Sweet Sketch Wednesday for a chance to win Kitty Cat Josh and Rollerblading Chloe!

Today we are showing previews of Karber Breakfast Leslie.  I'm not part of today's blog hop, but be sure to head to the SCRS blog and participate in the blog hop for a chance to win Leslie!

    Paper: MME Stella and Rose
    Stamps: Karber Breakfast Leslie
Prima Flowers, Dew Drops, Copics, Pearls, Nestabilities, and MS Border Punch

Confession time: I only make card fronts, lol.  The only time I glue my card fronts to bases is when I'm actually going to use the card.  I've been playing around with my photos, so I thought I would give the angle shot a try.
Ruby is our featured character for the month of June. All Ruby stamps will be 15% off, starting on Saturday! I hope you all have a great hump day and good luck!
