Don't forget to check out the BLD Challenge blog to see this week's color challenge and the rest of the DT's darling creations!

I actually hold this color combo dearly to my heart, as these are the colors for the company of my day job and the colors of my sorority, Alpha Xi Delta.  Since I give cards to people at work all time, this will be a good card to go in my stash...well, really Brent's, since he always asks the night before, lol.

Paper: SU
Stamps: BLD, sentiment is A Muse

Paper: MME Stella and Rose Mabel
Stamps: Stamping Bella
Pearls, Copics, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, and Crystal Stickles

I hope you all have a great hump day!  It's been a busy week so far, but I have lots of fun stuff coming!

My Project 29

With my 29th birthday coming up, I decided to do a non-traditional Project Life.  First off, I want to say genuinely, that I am not afraid or sad to turn 30.  I just think that documenting my last year in my 20's will be fun and will hopefully get me back into scrapbooking semi-regularly again.

{What will Project 29 actually be?}   I will be taking at least 1 photo each week and I will also be adding extra pages and layouts of the major events and holidays that I participate in.  I am using a 12x12 We R Memory Keepers black leather binder and Becky Higgin's Project Life Page Protectors and Journaling Cards.  This will run from my 29th birthday until my 30th birthday.

I will be sharing my photo(s) on Mondays for the week prior.  My regular craft group meets on the 2nd Saturday on each month, so hopefully on the 3rd Monday of each month, I can show you my actual album pages.

My real birthday isn't until April 5th, but I had my first birthday celebration early on Saturday night.  I've always wanted to do a murder mystery dinner and it was a ton of fun!  My friend Tricia did the best at guessing who'd done it, but we had a blast.  There were 8 suspects, and it actually ended up being 3 of the 8 who conspired together.

Here's a picture of me and Yvonne with one of the police officers.  The actors were hilarious and did such a great job with the play on words.  Our dective's name was Justin Case.  Get it?  Just In Case, lol.  I decided to have my name be Sparkle Buffay.  I thought Mrs. Buffay was a good code name. :)

One of the supects was a twin, so obviously I guessed it was the twin brother, lol!  Being married to an identical twin, I know they can easily play the old switch-a-roo.  I did get one of the guys right though, just not the twins, lol.

Well, I hope you all have a great Monday!  I will be back tomorrow with my next SCRS challenge card!  Lastly, there's just a couple more days left to help out Japan!  I'm estatic with the amount of Rins I've already sold!  I know all of the support you've given will be greatly appreciated!

By Lori Designs Challenge

Don't forget to check out the BLD Challenge blog to see this week's color challenge and the rest of the DT's darling creations!

Living in the Pacific Northwest, we get tons of rain!  So I knew this image would be perfect for me!  Lori even made a cute sentiment set that coordinates with this sweet Ella.  I just got my new Basic Grey paper last week and I love these bright spring colors!

Paper: Basic Grey Luscious
Stamps: By Lori Designs
Pearls, Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, Felt, and Copics

ETA: This last week has been hectic with my day job!  With new loan laws going into effect on April 1st, my department has been working on getting new training materials out the door.  I've also been teaching a training class for one of my co-workers, so I haven't had time to keep up with my blog.  Brent asked for some thank you cards to send to the Boise stores he visited last week.  Being as tired as I was, I never took pictures...so sadly that means no pictures on the blog for the next few days.

Though, my birthday isn't until April 5th, this weekend I'm having Birthday Celebration #1 with some friends.  (I have a few different group of friends, so I'm actually having 4 events - slightly crazy, but hey, I only turn 29 once, lol.)  I'm going on a murder mystery dinner cruise!  I've been wanting to do one of these for years!  I'm so excited! It's also my friend Sandy's birthday on Sunday, so I'm also going to a party for her this weekend.  I'll be back on Sunday with pictures!

Reminder...In an effort to provide some help to Japan, Sparkle Creations has decided to generously donate $5 for every Rin stamp {sold from now through the end of March} to the Japan Disaster Relief.  I hope you all have a great Thursday!  Grey's and Private Practice are on tonight!

Birthday Wishes from Parkbenchabella

Yesterday was my friend Katie's birthday and this is the card I made her.  Of course I got busy and mailed her card late, {sigh}, but I know she'll still enjoy it just as much.  Katie lives in Chicago and I haven't seen her since New Years 2010.  Sadly, while I'll be in Chicago for Summer CHA, she'll be home in Oregon.  What are the odds, right?!?

Paper: Basic Grey Hopscotch
Stamps: Stamping Bella Parkbenchabella, sentiment is A Muse
BG Chipboard Pieces, Copics, PTI Flower Dies, BG Buttons, Floss, Pearls, and Crystal Stickles

SCRS Challenge #35 - Color Challenge, Help Japan, and Cafe Lucy Card

Today's challenge is a color challenge of pink, orange, and lime.  Don't forget to check out the SCRS blog to see the rest of the DT's darling creations!

Our challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and this week's winner will receive the adorable Surfing Oliver rubber stamp. In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!

I actually picked this color challenge and I totally cheated, lol.  I was so disappointed that in the 6x6  mini pad of this paper set didn't have any green in it.  I seriously wonder sometimes who gets to pick which patterns make it from the 12x12 sets to the mini pads!

Paper: Basic Grey Life of the Party
Stamps: Sparkle Creations, sentiment is Kraftin' Kimmie
Lacey Circle Nestabilities, Regular Circle Nestabilities, Copic Markers, BG Brads, Crystal Stickles, Pearls, PTI Beautiful Blooms II #1 Dies, PTI Buttons, and Leaf Ribbon

In efforts to help Japan, I have marked down all the Rin stamps to $5.  For each one that is purchased, I will donate that $5 to the Japan Disaster Relief.  I will be donating money for the rest of the month or until I sell of Rins, whichever comes first.

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS post. If you use an online gallery (e.g. Splitcoast), please also use the Keyword SCRSC34 and sparklecreations. If you have a Facebook account and are a fan of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, you can also upload there. Deadline for this week's challenge is Sunday, March 27 @ 9 PM PST.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!  Biggest Loser is on tonight!

How Ya Bean Streetcorner Josh? and Book Review: Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close

Between working full time at my day job, running my store, and blogging everyday - I hardly get a chance to submit for publications. When Paper Crafts was doing their sketch card call, this was the only card I was able to get out. Obviously, it didn't get picked...but I still love it!

Paper: Basic Grey Wander
Stamps: Sparkle Creations Streetcorner Josh, sentiment is A Muse
BG Brads, EK Success Punches, BG Brads, and Copics

I will admit that I started this book in January.  I stopped reading it the week I left for CHA and I just finally got back to it to finish it.  This book is about a 9 year old boy, Oskar, who loses his dad in the World Trade Center on 9/11.  Oskar finds a key in his dad's closet and goes a wild chase across New York City to find the lock that goes with this key.

This book is completely confusing, because there's another parallel story going on about Oskar's grandfather.  A little after 3/4 way into the book, it all comes together and then it made so much more sense to me.  I didn't like how the book ended at all, but I can't really tell you why or it'll spoil the story.  Overall, it left me curious and I'm the type that likes to know, lol.

I hope you all have a fabulous Monday!  It's back to work for me...no more Bachelor, but Hawaii Five-O is on tonight!

Christmas Tree Ruby Card and 2011 Christmas Card Challenge #16 - Recipe Challenge

This week's challenge is a recipe challenge: 1 designer paper, stars, and rub-ons.  Don't forget to check out the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's lovely creations.

I can't even remember the last time I used rub-ons, lol.  I was scared that I wouldn't even find any.  But luckily after searching through everything, I found some mis-matching alphabet sets that I bought years ago.  I made the sentiment with my rub-ons.

Paper: Basic Grey Jovial
Stamps: Sparkle Creations Christmas Tree Ruby
Copics, Pearls, and Crystal Stickles

Cherry on Top Cupcake!

I'm still using up images from when I went over to Corinna's house back in January. Where does the time go peeps?  As soon as I saw this image, I knew right away that I wanted to pair it up with this sentiment.  I figure I'll just add it to my non-existent birthday card stash. I also used Critter Sketch Challenge #55 for this.

Paper: Basic Grey Hopscotch
Stamps: MFT, sentiment is A Muse
Pearls, Nestabilities, Copics, PTI Ribbon, and Crystal Stickles

By Lori Designs Challenge #9

Below is this week's color challenge. Don't forget to check out the BLD Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's darling creations.
Well, green is my favorite color and 17 has been my favorite number since I was little.  Obviously, this would have to be my favorite holiday!  But I'm not Irish, lol, and I don't actually really make that many St. Patty's day cards...so I decided on a birthday card for a friend instead.

Paper: CTMH, SU
Stamps: BLD, sentiment is Impress
Prima Flowers, Felt, Pearls, Nestabilities, Copics, and Crystal Stickles

Reminder.. SALE ALERT! Sparkle Creations is having a sale for St. Patrick's Day weekend, starting this Thursday, 3/17 through Sunday night, 3/20. The code will be LUCKY15 for 15% off your total!  I hope you all have a great Thursday!

SCRS St. Patrick's Day Weekend SALE

Happy St. Patty's Day everyone! I hope you're all wearing a cute green outfit like Chloe, lol.  Today kicks off our SALE, so you can either click here or above on the Sparkle Creations Store link to start shopping now!

Stay tuned for my next By Lori Designs challenge card, which will be up later today. Thanks!

Noelle with Frosty Greetings and Book Review: Last Night At Chateau Marmont

My friend Alanna sent me this image and I'm so excited to finally use her.  I didn't really mean for this card to turn out monochromatic, but I like it.  I went through my felt bin and found some red scraps.  I figured I'd make a cute flower for this.  I'm still trying to catch up with my Christmas cards, so I'm happy to be adding to the pile.

Paper: Basic Grey Jovial
Stamps: Kraftin' Kimmie, sentiment is A Muse
Felt, PTI Flower Dies, Pearls, Copics, Twine, Nestabilities, Rhinestones, Floss, and Crystal Stickles

This book is about an ordinary girl, who marries a guy who is trying to become a rock star.  They've been married for 5 years and after working 2 jobs to support them, the husband performs on The Tonight Show and becomes famous over night.  This book is about their tribulations with the media and how they struggle to stay together.

Overall, I thought the book was annoying.  The wife gets mad that he's never home.  Always in the studio, on tour, doing shows, going to parties.  Though they could afford it, she was unwilling to give up either of her jobs, so she wasn't able to be on the road with him all the time.  Sorry, but that's the choice you made.  I don't pitty people like that.

And while I know you never really know until you experience it yourself, I still think you make the choice.  If there's the potential that your partner could be a famous singer, you have to know that they'll always be performing, recording, doing interviews, going to the Grammy's, media all over, etc.  But it's an easy read, so if you like chic lit books, you might fair better with it. :)

I hope you all have a lovely hump day!  And don't forget to wear green tomorrow!

SCRS Challenge #34 - Inspiration Challenge and Cocktail Emily Card

This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge!  Don't forget to check out the SCRS blog to see the actual photo and the rest of the DT's darling creations!

Our challenge is open to all players. Each week a random winner will be chosen, and this week's winner will receive the adorable Swimming Lucy rubber stamp. In order to qualify for a prize, you must use a Sparkle Creations image on your creation. Most importantly, have fun! We can't wait to see your creations!

As soon as I saw the photo that Steph picked for this challenge, I already knew I wanted to do a lemon and lime combo with Emily.  Doesn't it make you just wanna go somewhere warm and just relax?  I also used CPS #208 for this.

Paper: MME Stella and Rose Gertie
Stamps: Sparkle Creations Cocktail Emily, sentiment is A Muse
Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Twine, Copics, EK Succhess Border Punch, Crystal Stickles, and Rhinestones

To play along in our challenge, upload a photo of your project and provide a direct link in the linky widget at the bottom of the SCRS blog post. If you use an online gallery (e.g. Splitcoast), please also use the Keyword SCRSC34. If you have a Facebook account and are a fan of Sparkle Creations Rubber Stamps, you can also upload there. Deadline for this week's challenge is Sunday, March 20 @ 9 PM PST.

I hope you all have a great Tuesday!  Here's hoping my black team can stay strong on Biggest Loser!

A Warm Hello From Nahla and Some Housekeeping

Okay, you all are probably totally sick of my Stella and Rose paper and my paper roses, lol.  But I colored this sweet little image a bit ago and I just had to use her up!  Some asked last time what colors I used for darker skin.  For darker skins, I typically use E17, 15, and 13.

Paper: MME Stella and Rose Hazel
Stamps: TGF, sentiment is A Muse
Pearls, Copics, Crystal Stickles, and EK Success Border Punch

I did a little updating to the good ole' bloggie and just wanted to let you know what I did.
  1. I updated my Copic List.  I pulled colors from other blogs and Splitcoast to match the SU and CTMH colors.  If there's more than one color next to it, try and see which one you like better. :)
  2. I updated my profile picture.  If you can't tell, it's a picture of me at CHA against some Basic grey posters, lol.  The photo is courtesy of Shaela.
  3. I added a feed from the SCRS blog to my sidebar.  That way you all can see what's going on at the store too.
Anyhoo, I hope you all have a great Monday...it's back to work for me.  I really want Emily to win tonight, but sadly I think it's gonna be my Seattle cry baby gal that wins, lol.  I'm already looking forward for Bachelorette and Bachelor Pad!  And don't forget, Hawaii Five-O is on tonight too!

This week's challenge is elves!  Don't forget to check out the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see the rest of the DT's darling creations.

I have so many scraps left of my Jovial paper, I decided to use some of it for this card.  I guess it ended up being kindof busy, but I really like doing the red and green together.

Paper: Basic Grey Jovial
Stamps: Sparkle Creations Elf Oliver, sentiment is A Muse
CTMH Brads, PTI Buttons, Twine, Nestabilities, Copics, and Crystal Stickles

I hope you all have a great weekend!  Between packing orders, I will be cleaning the house and grocery shopping!
