Tiedtheknotabella Wedding Card

My co-worker's cousin got married over Memorial Day weekend. Josh asked me to make a card, but said that the colors didn't really matter. My friend Shaela had asked me for some Bella images, so since I already them out, I decided to use my newest wedding Bella. Not a typical color combo for me, but I like how it turned out.

Paper: Basic Grey Kioshi
Stamps: Stamping Bella, sentiment is Amuse
Prima Flowers, Basic Grey Brads, Friskars Border Punch, Copics, and Crystal Stickles

And don't forget...it's release day at Stamping Bella! I can't wait to order the new Bellas! I'm also gonna hit the mall to return my dress and look for a new belt. I still need to go grocery shopping as well.

I hope that most of you are enjoying the holiday off! I hope to craft the day away since we have rainy weather! And of course Bachelorette is on tonight! :)

Raise the Bar Challenge #20 - Sketch Challenge

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge. Don't forget to check out the Raise the Bar blog to see the actual sketch and the rest of the DT's lovely cards.

Ever feel like you have so much stuff and ask when are you ever gonna use it all? I love my new Roll Call set from the Greeting Farm and am excited to finally play with it. Though this card is a bit darker for me, I love how it came out.

Paper: Basic Grey Ambrosia
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Amuse
Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Twine, American Crafts Brads, Copics, and Crystal Stickles

I hope you all have a great Saturday! Tonight Brent and I are going bowling and out to dinner with some friends!

Farm Fresh Friday - That Gal

This week's challenge is an inspiration challenge and below is the picture that we given. Don't forget to check out the TGF blog to see the rest of the DT's fabulous creations.

I wanted to do something a bit more girlie...so I thought Marlene would be good for a nice pastel card. When Amuse's new spring stamps came out, I fell in love with this Merci sentiment. I also used Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #112 and my green washi tape.

Paper: Basic Grey Porcelain
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Amuse
Pearls, Washi tape, Nestabilities, MS Butterfly Punch, Copics, and Crystal Stickles

Now on to the rambling. First off, this has been a disappointing week for me, lol. I really wanted Koli to win Biggest Loser and Crystal to win American Idol. But I'm excited that Bachelorette is back and So You Think You Can Dance. Big Brother starts on July 8th, so I'm counting down the days.

On Wednesday night I went to Scrapbook Nook, my local scrapbooking store, and while I was there, some lady had stolen a demo book. They saw her on the camera, lol, and they told her she wasn't allowed to come back or she would be trespassing. They told her that the police would contact her. CRAZY, right?!? All of this was going on while I was paying for my stuff.

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous Friday! It's almost the weekend and wahoo for a 3 day weekend!

Sympathy Butterfly Card

My friend Barb lost her dad last week and I wanted to send her a card. I wanted a more subtle way of coloring, so I decided to airbrush the butterfly. Ever since I got my Copics, I gave away all of my other coloring mediums. I first tried coloring one in and thought it was too vibrant.

Thought to myself...should I take pictures of white background cards with colored paper behind it? Do you think it gets too washed out?

Paper: Basic Grey Kioshi
Stamps: The Rubber Cafe, sentiment is A muse
Friskars Border Punch, Twine, Copics, and Rhinestones

I know many think it's a bad omen to pre-make sympathy cards, but I've been wanting to make a set. A few people have asked me for some lately and depending on the situation, I don't always have the time to make cards. So I made a set of 8 to have on hand. It's a nice way to use up your scraps.

I hope you all have a great hump day! I will be back on Friday with my card for TGF Farm Fresh Friday.

Get Better Soon Brandy

Last week Brent asked me to make his older brother's girlfriend a card. Brandy unfortunately broke her arm while playing softball. I didn't hear the whole story, so I'm not sure how bad it was or how she's doing. But I hope that she heals well.

Paper: SU
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Amuse
Nestabilities, Copics, CTMH Brads, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, and Twine

Brent and I attempted to see Shrek 3 on Saturday, but as soon as we got to the mall, they were evacuating because the fire alarm went off. Everyone was trying to get out of the parking lot, so we decided to get lunch at the Cheesecake Factory. Later the mall re-opened and though we missed the movie, we decided to do some shopping.

I was able to get the rest of my outfit for my reunion, so I thought I would share with you all. First off, our reunion is at a bar...which is lame in my opinion. I'm really disappointed. Brent's class is having a 3 day multi-event reunion and my class is hanging out at a bar, lol. I originally bought a dress from Ann Taylor to wear, but it's too nice.

Raise the Bar Challenge #19 - It's all about the bag!

This week's challenge at Raise the Bar is 'It's all about the bag!' Create a card based on your fave handbag. Well, if you don't know me very well...before I loved rubbah, Coach was my first love, lol. I got that one from my mother...she loved Coach purses!

My high school reunion is less than a month away and I've been slowly piecing my outfit together. Though I have quite the collection of small black purses, I decided I wanted something a little bit more fun. I saved a Macy's gift card from my birthday last year, so I decided to finally use it to get this. Funny how all my Bella Bucks and Starbuck gift cards get spent right away, lol.

Last night was Kendall's birthday party and here's the card I made for her. We're both April babies, but due to life she had her party way late. She decided to have an all girls black dress party at Wasabi Bistro. Her boyfriend Cody is one of Brent's friends from college, so they also had a guy's night. :)

Paper: SU
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is PTI, flowers are Sherrod Studio
CB Swiss Dots, Copics, Rhinestones, CTMH Ribbon, and Crystal Stickles

With events like this, I always miss my sorority sisters...as we're scattered across the country. I miss having these kind of parties every once in awhile. And on 2 Peas there's always been a lot of trash talk about making people where a certain color dress to a party. But I don't think black is crazy...most people would already have a black dress. Now if it were neon orange...I might think twice, lol.

Sweet 16 Partygirlabella Card and Book Review: The Happiness Project

Oh, to be young again! Lol...this card is for a custom order. This lady's daughter is turning 16 at the end of the month and her daughter's favorite color is purple. I also used Jen del Muro's SFYTT from May 8th.

My cousin Chris and I were born 2 weeks apart and we celebrated every birthday together until we were 21. Our 16th birthday was no exception. It's probably been the biggest birthday party we ever had. It was a fun night of pizza, Twister, and playing football in our cul-de-sac. Do you remember your sweet 16?

Paper: Basic Grey Wisteria
Stamps: Stamping Bella, sentiment is Amuse
Thickers, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Twine, Crystal Stickles, Nestabilities, Rhinestones, and Copics

Trent from the Simple Dollar suggested this book, so I went ahead and read it. It's about this lady, Gretchen, who takes a years time to change her ways, add new resolutions, and just be happier in life. BTW, she's actually a happy person to begin with, so this isn't about depression or anything weird like that.

I loved it...and it's really inspired me to work on a few things. I tried to follow Gretchen's blog, but I find her posts boring and blah. Lol...so just stick to her book.

Obviously, every one's happiness project will be different and there's no right or wrong thing. Some of the things that Gretchen did just won't be appealing for you. I'm gonna guess that almost none of you would start a book club that only reads children literature. And I obviously wouldn't work on being more patient with my kids, since I don't have any, lol.

But I do want to exercise better, work smart, take time for projects, start a collection, make new friends, and buy needful things, to just name a few. I haven't really started this...but will update you on it as I get this put together. :) Since I also don't have the time Gretchen had either, it will be at a much slower pace.

Anyhoo- I hope you all have a great hump day! I will be back on Friday with my card for TGF Farm Fresh Friday.

American Crafts Bards, Copics, Prima Flowers, and PTI Buttons

I also used Unscripted Sketch #54 for this. I hope you all have a great Sunday. Brent and I are going out for lunch and I hope to craft later.

Don't forget...you have until 6pm CST tonight to CASE my critter card! Thanks to Kim, Amber, Jeanne, and Bernice for CASEing me! Right now I'm in the lead by 1, but Jami and Sandra are right behind me! Please help me win a free stamp set and you could be the next TGF Critter Crew Guest Designer!

I normally post my Raise the Bar challenges on Saturdays...but since I did the Tiddly Ink blog hop, I had to wait until today. This week's challenge was to make a card for your Mom. I didn't go home for Mother's Day, but here is the card I made for Anna, my step mom. Her favorite color is pink and figured she would love the bright colors.

Paper: Basic Grey Green at Heart
Stamps: Sarah Kay, sentiment is Amuse
CTMH Brads, Copics, Rhinestones, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Twine, and Crystal Stickles

Last night Brent was silly and wanted to go out to dinner. I told him all the restaurants would be busy, but he insisted on going to Mizu. It was sweet, they gave mimosas, roses, and fried ice cream to all of the 'moms.' I got green tea ice cream instead, lol.

Well, I hope you all have a fabulous Monday! It's back to work for me...and then I'm heading up to Nona's for a last minute get together - craft night!

Elodie in Her Garden and Goals Update

I made this card for my MIL. She loves to garden, so this card will suit her perfectly. My friend Arlene gave me this image, but I might have to just buy her eventually. :) I think she would be cute for a lot of fun spring and summer cards. I also used Get Sketchy #35 for this.

Paper: Basic Grey Green at Heart
Stamps: Sarah Kay, sentiment is Amuse
CTMH Bigger Brads, Nestabilities, Twine, Basic Grey Bloomers, Rhinestones, Copics and Crystal Stickles

It's the beginning of the month and time to check in with my goals. Can you believe it's May already? I can't believe we're almost half way through this year.
  • Pay off my car by the end of the year - Still chugging along...
  • Technical writing class (for work) - I still haven't signed up for one. With us being short staffed, opening new stores, launching new products, and our family reunion in Yellowstone this summer, I'm not sure when I'll be able to take this.
  • Photoshop and Illustrator Tutorials (for work) - I still haven't progressed any farther then where I was at in February. We launch our first store in Vancouver, BC on June 1st, so my work schedule will be very hectic until then.
  • Get Copic certified
  • Make tags with my Christmas cards - I still only have the 2 tags that I made in January.
  • My secret project - is going great. I will hit a major milestone with this tomorrow. :) I am hoping to be able to share this with you all by July.
  • Use up more of what I already have - doing good...besides the new Basic Grey paper pads, I haven't bought any paper since the beginning of the year.
  • Spend 1/2 on crafting than last year - With Impress's huge sale and my birthday discount from Amuse, I went way over budget for the month. But aren't birthday months suppose to be like that, lol? Will need to majorly work on this for May and June.
I hope you all have a wonderful Monday! It's back to work for me...will be back on Wednesday with a birthday card!

2010 Christmas Card Challenge Week #22

This week's challenge is bows, bows, bows! Use any kind of bows on your card. Don't forget to check out the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see the rest of the Design Team's lovely creations! Also, it's the first challenge of the month, so if you play with us, you could win a prize!

I used Jen del Muro's Sketch For You to Try from yesterday. I typically would of put a 'snowflake' but inserted a bow instead, lol. I also finally got around to playing with my Copic multi-liner and made stripes on the scarf!

Paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
Stamps: CC Designs, sentiment is Amuse
Copics, CTMH Ribbon, Rhinestones, and Crystal Stickles

I found this picture of the mug I got at Amuse. Just thought I would share. :) I bought so much stuff, I got it free, lol...but they do sell them individually for about $10. Isn't it just so cute! My typical Moneytree coffee mug has been replaced.

I hope you all have a great Sunday! Brent and I will be running errands and spending the day together!

Everything's Rosy

Thursday night I went to A muse to see their new release. Ever since I got Copics, it's really rare I stamp solid images anymore. But all of the new lovely flower stamps made me cave and of course I bought some, lol.

I'm a total slacker and I need to get my Mother's Day cards done. I think I tend to lag on this every year because obviously it's a sad time for me. I think I will send this card to Brent's grandma.

Paper: Basic Grey Green at Heart
Stamps: Amuse
PTI Buttons, Twine, Dew Drops, and Rhinestones

And guess who I met while I was at Amuse? I got to meet Novell! Of course it's the one time I don't bring my camera. But it was a lovely night and I had a blast. I also got a cute mug that says "Stamp all night, sleep all day." It's so me, I'm making it my new motto!

Everyone have a fabulous Saturday! I'm getting my oil changed in my car and then crafting!
