Wheat Riley

I'm re-arranging my blog...so if it looks a bit wonky, don't be alarmed. I will be changing things here and there over the week and I'll put my banner back up once I'm done.

Hanna Stamps Challege #88 is to use Fall colors on your creation. I also used Clean and Simple's Sketch #61 for this card too. I don't do clean & simple very well...but I like my added layers and borders, lol. Isn't Wheat Riley just the cutest moose ever?

Well, it's my Dad's birthday on Saturday and I made this for him. Anna and him are coming home from Laos on Friday, but I won't be heading down to Portland this weekend. My dad will be jetlag, tired, and Michael and Emily will be fighting for his attention over me, lol. And they typically win...so, I will go shopping at Amuse instead...and will see my dad another time. :)

Paper: Basic Grey Marrakech
Stamps: Hanna Stamps, sentiment is
Nestabilities, CTMH Brads, Copics, and EK Success Border Punch

I'm still disappointed that Brent and I weren't able to go with them...but I hope that my Grandma's soul can rest in peace in her homeland. Since my parents were already over on that side of the world...they also went to China. I can't wait to see all the pictures and goodies they got. Anyhoo- I hope you all have a great hump day!

You Simply Sparkle, Savannah!

No one needs to worry...even though my time on the farm is done, I will still be posting TGF stuff. I have always been more of an Anya fan (I'll admit I own all the single Anyas and Ians...hidden in my closet) so you will probably see more Anya and Ian creations. Plus, I'm super excited to see what Marie will be releasing this Thursday!

This is Savannah as a little Latin girl. She reminds me of a salsa dancer, lol. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how she turned out. This originally started out as the Unscrited Sketches #23 (which is old now), but I just couldn't get it to fit all together. I sent her to Amy a bit ago...and forgot to post! So better late then never I suppose.

Paper: Basic Grey June Bug
Stamps: The Greeting Farm
Prima Flowers, Copics, PTI Buttons, Crystal Stickles, and Rhinestones

My friend Lori Olive gave me this sentiment stamp earlier this year, while we were Bella Sistahs. I believe it's a Unity set...I don't have the packaging for it anymore, so I'm not sure, lol. I just adore it because is says "sparkle" on it! :)

Well, I hope you all have a great Tuesday! Who are my Biggest Loser watchers?

Eerie Pippi

For you local Seattle peeps...are any of you going to Amuse's anniversary sale next weekend? It starts at 9am on Saturday. I've been thinking about taking a class from Julie Ebersole. She's such a doll if you've never met her before. Last time she came into town, Rachel and I took both of her classes. Anyhoo- if anyone is going, I would love to meet up and shop! :)

I made this card last week in hopes that Kelly would put this Pixie in the shop. I still haven't seen her...but KL Stampin n Scrappin does have all of the new Basic Grey paper. Isn't Pippi just so cute all dressed up as a pumpkin?!?

Paper: Basic Grey Eerie
Stamps: CC Designs, sentiment is TGF
Copics, CTMH Bigger Brads, American Craft Ribbon, and Crystal Stickles

Many people always ask how I find the time to do everything. First, I'm a process person...I like things to be in order, steps, and sequential. Almost everything I do, I break into parts...I even eat this way, lol. But seriously...when I stamp, I stamp a ton of images at one time. That way I only have to clean my stamps, ink, and block once and be done.
Then I rummage through my scraps and paper stacks and pick which papers I want to use with which images. After I have a good stack of images and paper, I color each image to match the paper I picked. I do this while I'm watching TV, though I can't while I'm watching SYTYCD. Their dance routines are so short, if you miss a sec, you could miss the whole thing. And be careful when you watch your favorites...because I have messed up when something exciting happens, lol. :)
I look at all of the sketch challenges for the week and see what will work with what. Then by the time Saturday comes...all I have to do is actually assemble my cards together. This is actually the quickest part for me. Coloring with my Copics is the longest. I make all of my cards for the week and then photograph them all. After I edit them, I autopost everything for the week and then I start all over for next week. The only downfall to what I do is that every challenge I use is a week or two late.

Anyhoo- I hope you all have a great Monday! It's back to work for me...and it's gonna be a long day, as I'm finishing up a project. :)

Christmas Card Challenge Week #43

Hi ya! I don't have a real challenge for you...so just make a Christmas card! :) I used this Sarah Kay image I got from Wish RAK. This card just came together really easy for me...no sketch, no inspiration...just doing my own thing, lol.

Paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
Stamps: Sarah Kay, sentiment is Amuse
CTMH Brads, Nestabilities, Crystal Stickles, Snowflake Punch, and Snowflake Punch

Stamping Bella Lulu Blog Hop

Welcome to our Stamping Bella Lulu Blog Hop! If you didn't start from the beginning, please go to Emily's blog. If you came here from Debbie's blog, then you're right on track.

My friend Tanya was so sweet to trade some images with me and I just love Henrietta. I didn't intend this card to be a baby card when I first made it...but since she's just so sweet, I thought, why not? I highlighted her with my new YROOOO Copic marker. Sometimes it's just a bit more fun than always using grey to outline.

Paper: My Minds Eye Abbey Road
Stamps: Stamping Bella, sentiment is PTI
Prima Flowers, Pearls, American Crafts Brads, Nestabilities, EK Success Border Punch, Copics

I took some different angle shots just for fun. Caputuring glitter is an art in itself!

How about a prize? In addition to the fabulous eye candy, we have decided to hide a prize somewhere along the hop! One pre-selected blogger will draw a random winner from the comments on her post, and the winner will receive a $25 Gift Voucher to Stamping Bella!!! The fun part is...we're not telling you who it is! So as you hop, make sure you leave comments on every post so you have a chance to win!! We will announce the winner on Monday in the Splitcoast forum. MWAH!

Thanks so much for stopping by! Now it's time to hop on over to {Arlene's blog}.

Fresh Farm Friday with TGF

Today's challenge is a sketch challenge! Don't forget to check out the TGF blog for the actual sketch and the rest of the DT's awesome examples! Ah...2 cat cards in a row, lol. Isn't this Gingerbell just so sweet?!?

Paper: Basic Grey Indian Summer
Stamps: The Greeting Farm
Copics, Crystals Stickles, MS Border Punches, American Craft Buttons, Floss, and Nestabilites

Sadly, this is my last Farm Fresh Friday as a Gardener. I truly have loved my time on the farm and I'm very excited to welcome the new Gardeners! I want to say thanks to Marie and Jessica for everything they've done for us! Such an amazing team to work with and I truly encourage all of you in the future to keep trying out for this DT!

Everyone have a wonderful Friday! It's almost the weekend! :)

Daydreamabella Embrace Happiness Card

Another Bella un-inked in the stack...I've been telling myself all summer that I would make a card with her. Well, now that it's fall, lol, here it is. Don't you wish we could all just relax with our lazy cat and dream the day away? I actually made this card a couple weeks back when I was still in my "red and blue" mood. This card started out as 2 Sketches 4 You Laura's Sketch #34 (which is a few weeks old now), but didn't quite make it.

Paper: My Minds Eye and Making Memories
Stamps: Stamping Bella, sentiment is PTI
Copics, MS Border Punch, Nestabilities, CTMH Brads, Prima Flowers, and PTI Buttons

I'm so happy that Grey's is on tonight! Aren't you so excited our shows are back! Wahoo! Everyone have a great Thursday!

80's Anya

Remember when lime green and turquiose spandex was cool?!? I just love this 80's Anya! I use to love making my own shirts with neon puffy paint and rhinestones, lol! And I'm the biggest Karate Kid fan ever! I also used Jen Del Muro's Sketch For You to Try from a couple of weeks ago. I thought the circle paper from my Lime Rickey stack would be fun and I like how my card came out!

Paper: Basic Grey Lime Rickey
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Stamping Bella
CTMH Brads, Cuttlebug Embossing, Nestabilities, Copics, Crystal Stickles, Prima Flowers, and Basic Grey buttons

Many of asked...how do I decide who gets what Christmas card? Honestly, I haven't really thought about it. The only people who I know for SURE keep track are my "college/sorority sisters" friends and my MIL. They would remember if I sent them the "same" image prior, so I always keep track of what I send them. I usually make all of my college friends the SAME card, so that makes it easier to remember.

I could probably send most of my Aunts, Uncles, and cousins, the same "image" every year and they probably wouldn't notice, lol...they only keep my picture and replace the old with the new one. I could keep an Excel chart of which card I actually send to someone...but I don't really want to. Guess that just means I have to keep buying new Christmas stamps! Oh, well... :)

In all seriousness though, if you found a couple cute sets at the end of this year, you could just alternate through them through out the year and wouldn't have to invest too much. I swear I have enough Christmas paper to make all of my cards for 2010 already. I plan on mailing out my cards on December 1st and then I will start all over again! I'm really proud of myself this year...so next year I'm gonna work a lot harder on my birthday cards too.

Everyone have a wonderful hump day! 1 more day until Grey's comes back! :)

Pink Cat Studio is Going Digital!

I’m excited to announce that Pink Cat Studio is going digital! Today Melissa is opening an online digital stamp store with a great selection of brand new Halloween and Christmas designs. So now PCS will have two stores, one for rubber stamps and one for digital stamps. You can check out the new store at: http://www.pinkcatstudio.com/Digital/PCSDigi.htm

Many of you know I'm well on my quest to get all of my Christmas cards done early. And here are 2 more to add to the stack! I used Itty Bitty Betty Candy Cane Slide and Penguin Elf in Present! Aren't these just adorable?!? For my first card, I used Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch #3 and my second card, I used Mojo Monday #104.

Paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses

Birthday Fishes and Another Book Review: Remember Me?

Here is my card today for KL Stampin n Scrappin. I was in a pink princess mood when I made this card, lol. It reminds me of Shelly, since she LOVES pink. I've been eying this border punch from Stephanie's blog for awhile. I finally gave in and bought it last week when I was at Michaels. I also used Taylored Expressions Sketch # 82 for this.

Paper: My Minds Eye Bloom and Grow paper
Stamps: CC Designs

This book was slated for August in the Sistah-hood of the Reading Bellas. I'm a huge fan of Sophie Kinsella, but for some reason, this is my least favorite book from her. Undomestic Goddess was much better! I read this in 3 days and like the rest of her books, they're light, easy, and well humored.

This book is about a girl who gets into a car accident and wakes up with amnesia. She thinks it's 2004...when it's really 2007. She can't remember anything that's happened in the last 3 years of her life. Come to find out, she became thin, senior management, snooty, and married a millionaire. But of course there's a lot of lies and secrets that come with her "life." It irritates me, because you don't really know what happened in the accident, or what caused it. They don't ever show the events prior to it...though they do mention it briefly...which is vague, but I don't want to give it away, lol. The book never goes back to tell you. And I'm a DETAIL girl, humph. If you're in the mood for an easy read that will capture you in a fun drama plot, I would recommend this. I did like the ending of this book though, lol...which seems really rare lately. :)

Everyone have a great Monday! It's back to work for me...

Chirstmas Card Challenge Week #42

I used Get Sketchy #5 for my card today. You can do the sketch, or just make whatever Christmas card you would like. As we get closer to the holidays, I'm hoping more people will play. Again, the only real rule I have is that your card does need to be a holiday card.

When I was at Scrapbook Nook last week, I couldn't resist the new MM paper, Mistletoe. It's just darling and I can't wait to make little gifties for my peeps at work with it.

Paper: Making Memories
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Amuse
Crystal Stickles, Copics, Nestabilites, Cuttlebug Embossing, CTMH Brads, and PTI Buttons

Embrace Life Card

This sketch is a couple weeks old now, but I used Card Patterns Sketch #31 for this card. I think this Hope and Grace image is just darling. I'm still on my quest to use up all of my leftover Basic Grey paper. My stacks are slowly getting smaller, lol. But with orange being so popular this year, I really do love this stack.

Paper: Basic Grey
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is SU
Prima Flowers, Pearls, CTMH Buttons, and Copics

You probably have already seen this on the Pink Cat Studio blog, but I just wanted to let you all know that I am super excited about this. I am so blessed that Melissa asked me help her and her team with this special project and I will have some darling cards for you all on Tuesday!

Everyone have a great Saturday! I don't really have any plans for today...so we'll see what the day brings me.

Farm Fresh Friday with TGF

This week's challenge is embossing. I chose to use my Cuttlebug embossing folder and my Nestabilities. Don't forget to check out the TGF blog for the rest of the DT's wonderful creations. Can you tell by this picture that my favorite Girl Scout cookies are Thin Mints?!? They are the best! And I know...shame on me...The paper is cream and my image is on white...but hey, it works, lol.

My mom was a girl scout, but I never was. Moving to Portland, OR from Hilo, HI was hard on my mom and she always said she didn't sign me up, because she didn't know anyone. I guess she had her click in Hawaii and had my family stayed there, I would of had a nice group of little girl scouts to play with, lol. But I don't regret not being one...through out the years, I did ballet, karate, piano, band, and choir, so it's not like I didn't get to do anything as a child.

Paper: SU
Stamps: The Greeting Farm
Prima Flowers, CTMH Buttons, Pearls, Copics, PTI Ribbon, Cuttlebug Embossing, and Nestabilites

I have to say a huge thank you to Shaela. I got the best surprise in the mail last night! She sent me PMS's Shaela Fairy stamp and with that comes the sentiment, "you make life sparkle." The coolest part is that Shaela creates word art/sentiment stamps for PMS, so it's one that she created! I'm so excited and I truly appreciate your generosity.

I hope you all have a great Friday! It's almost the weekend! :)

Cherry Blossom Bitty Bloom Card

This stamp reminds me of my BFF Catherine. The cherry blossoms are a huge thing in DC and I was fortunate to visit her during their blooming season a couple years back. I also used Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch Challenge #2. I've had this stamp since it came out...which I don't even remember, that's how long. I'm finally getting around to using some of my stamps that are still un-inked.

Paper: Basic Grey Lemonade
Stamps: Stamping Bella, sentiment is PTI
Copics, Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Crystal Stickles, and Nestabilities

I know I always talk about the garlic fries...but it's seriously my favorite part about going to a Mariner's game. The place is called Grounders World Famous Garlic Fries. In all the sport venues I've ever been to, nothing compares. So, if you ever go, remember to get some yummy garlic fries. :) We won against the White Sox, so it was a fun time...even though the Mariner's won't make the playoffs this year.

Everyone have a great Thursday! 1 week until Grey's comes back on and 2 weeks until Private Practice!

Catcher Anya

I've been in a red and blue mood lately. I tend to use this paper to make guy cards, so I decided to go a bit more girly this round. I made this for Crazy 4 Challenges Sketch Challenge #1. It's way late...but still fun to play along! As a kid I loved the movie A League of Their Own. This Anya makes me think of that movie. Being an 80's child, I'm also a huge Madonna fan, who stared in this. Didn't she do a great job at the VMAs? We don't even need to start on Kanye West, lol. I thought the tribute to Michael Jackson was wonderful!

Paper: My Minds Eye
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Lockhart
Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons, Crystal Stickles, Copics, and Nestabilities

Everyone have a great hump day! I'm so happy that Jordan won Big Brother. I really wanted Kevin to go with her, but she did make the right choice, as she would of lost to him. I was shocked that Jesse voted for Jordan. But I should of known when he said "Jordan, Hakuna Matata."

Brent won tickets for the Mariner's game, so we're going to the game right after work. Bring on the garlic fries! :)

WOJ Guest Designer Try Out and a Book Review: The Madonnas of Leningrad

I made this card for the Whiff of Joy's Guest Designer try outs. The deadline is September 19th, but I think it's still the 18th here in the US, since WOJ is in Switzerland. I'm still working on different shades of skin and combos that I like. I used E15, 13, and 11 for her and so far I'm diggin it. I have 4 sheets left of 2 Scoops and I'm so proud to be using it up.

It's also Risa's birthday today. She's turning the big 5-0. So, you should head to her blog and leave her some bday love! If you've never been to her blog, you're in for a real treat! She's truly an amazing artist!

Paper: Basic Grey
Stamps: Whiff of Joy, sentiment is Amuse
Copics, Prima Flowers, Pearls, Crystal Stickles, MS Border Punch, CTMH Ribbon, and PTI buttons

At the end of 2008, in the Bella Forum, we started the Sista-hood of Reading Bellas. I fell off the bandwagon after June, which was my month to host. Since we pre-picked the books in advance and I already ordered them all from Amazon, I've been trying to catch up. I just read the book that is slated for October. So, now I'll just be going backwards on the list. :)

I'm not a huge history buff, so I don't know anything about Leningrad. The story is about an elderly lady who has Alzheimers and it reflects on her memories from the war. Her memories are very interesting and the best part of the book. In the end, I never felt like the past and the present meet up properly. I wasn't too big on the way the book ends and felt like the author should of put more into the "present" plot. Overall, it's a light and interesting read. But probably something I wouldn't read again.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful Tuesday! It's Finale night for BB! Go Jordan and Kevin!

Chillin' Magnolia Card, Book Review: Never Eat Alone, and Goals Update

Here is my card today for KL Stampin n Scrappin. Ice cream is my favorite thing to eat! Though I don't eat it very often. As a child, I use to eat ice cream cones by themselves, lol. Last time I was home at my dad's, Emily informed me she had ice cream in the freezer. I said, oh yeah, what kind is it? She says, "it's the white kind", lol. Oh, kiddos. Gotta love the words of a 3 1/2 year old.

Paper: Basic Grey
Stamps: Magnolia, sentiment is MFT
Prima Flowers, PTI Buttons and Ribbon, Crystal Stickles, Pearls, and Copics

Now for the not so crafty part...you can skip to the next blog if you don't want to read. One of my favorite blogs that I read every day is The Simple Dollar. Trent, the guy who writes on there is working his way through eliminating debt and trying to live more frugally. He started a Book Club and we're currently reading Never Eat Alone. This book is about relationships and networking, not finance.

In one of the chapters, they say you should make a large goal for 3 years from now and then working backwards, making smaller goals each year, and each 90 days, to complete your larger one. With that, I've been putting my goals back into perspective and I've been thinking about goals for 2010 through 2012. I've completed 3 so far for 2009...so not too shabby. Going back to school is still on my long term list, but unfortunately that will come much later than sooner.

My goals for 2009
-Get a new house-Artwork published (I think I'm going to abandon this one for 2010)
-Be on more Design Teams
-Putting more effort into my photography skills (Learning Photoshop CS3 has been very helpful)
-Get a new camera (I need to pay off my car first)
-Scrap 26 layouts (I've done 4 so far...gotta work on this one, lol)-120 Christmas cards by Christmas 2009 (Will be completed on December 1st, 2009, wahoo!)-One mini album every quarter of the year (I've done none...but hope to do one for Ali Edward's December Daily)
-I want to be more knowledgeable on business politics (This applies to my day career)

With so much going on in my life right now, I've decided to step back from some of my commitments. By the end of the month, I will be done with all of my Design Teams, except for KL Stampin n Scrappin. Don't worry, I will still be here in blog land...I just feel like I need some time to do my own thing for a bit and get life in perspective.

Everyone have a great Monday! It's back to work for me...

Christmas Card Challenge Week #41

Have any of you started your Christmas shopping yet? I'm a crazy one and does it ALL on Black Friday. It's my second favorite holiday after my birthday, lol. I really want to make some tea sets/packages this year though. Do any of you know of any really good tea?

ETA: Being a coffee drinker myself, I don't really know that much about Tea. I don't post a lot, but I lurk on 2Peas ALL the time. I should of looked there first, lol. But I found this website, http://www.mightyleaf.com/. It's kindof pricey, but for a nice Christmas gift, I think it suits it well. This site looks cool too, http://www.teavana.com/. And this one also, lol, http://www.harney.com/.

This week I used Unscripted Sketches #22 for my card. You can use it or just make what you want. Are you loving the new PTI holiday stuff?!? I got these snowmen from Wish RAK and I'm proud to say that this is my LAST piece of Figgy Pudding paper. I have half a pack of Wassail and I can't wait to use my Eskimo Kisses!

Paper: SU and Basic Grey

Amy Paints...

These new images from Janet McDonnell will be released on the 15th, along with the new Anya and Ian stamps! Don't forget to check out the TGF blog for more sneak peaks! I also used the sketch from The Diedrich Dare blog. Jessica's kiddos are just darling!

"Amy" was totally ME when I was in high school. I used to paint my nails every 3 days. Literally. I think I drove my parents nuts. I owned bottles and bottles of nail polish. And they were all lined up in rainbow order all around my bathroom counter. :) I was an only daughter for the first 23 years of my life...and I was very fortunate to have my own bathroom growing up. Unfortunately, my dad's new house isn't set up that way, so Emily will have to share one. But her room is 3 times the size I ever had, so maybe that evens it out, lol.

Paper: Sassafrass
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is Stamping Bella
CTMH Bigger Brads and Ribbon, Copics, Nestabilities, PTI Buttons, and Prima Flowers

My mother was always weird about sharing a bathroom...and never understood how I shared in the Sorority house. I don't know how my mom made it through college, lol. Luckily, she didn't rub off on me as an adult...but that's how I got my own bathroom as a kiddo.

I hope you all have a great weekend! I have the house to myself as Brent is down in Eugene going to the Duck's football game. I hope to get a lot of crafting done!

Farm Fresh Friday with TGF

Today's challenge is another sketch challenge! Don't forget to check out the TGF blog for the actual sketch and some fun sneak peeks! Since I already had my gingerbell card done, I'll have a fun sneak peek of a new line tomorrow.

I've always been a cat person, though my parents never let me have one. Brent really wants a dog...so we're gonna try to swing getting them both together once we're ready to. I want them to get "along," lol. But with the lack of a backyard and fence...it'll still be at least another year before we get any pets.

Paper: Basic Grey
Stamps: The Greeting Farm

I hope you all have a great Friday! It's almost the weekend! :)

Packitupabella Best Wishes Card

For the last 18 months I've posted Bella cards on Thursdays...so I have decided to keep Thursdays as my "Bella" day. This Bella came out too late for me...a couple months after I had already moved, so she's been sitting un-inked all summer.

I also used AmyR's sketch for this week as well. Can you tell what my favorite embellishment is this week?!? I'm so loving the pearls! And you'll be seeing alot of them for awhile. I was very productive over the long weekend. :)

Paper: Basic Grey Sultry
Stamps: Stamping Bella, sentiment is PTI
PTI Ribbon, Pearls, Copics, Pearls, and CTMH Bigger Brads

Everyone have a great Thursday! I'm interested in seeing what pans out in Big Brother tonight. I'm so rooting for Jordan and Kevin to make Final 2!

Tennis Anya

Isn't this Anya just a cutie?!? I'm not really that into Tennis, but Brent did play in high school. I also used Jen del Muro's sketch for this week. I was a little worried about getting Anya to fit, but it turned out alright.

Paper: My Minds Eye Abbey's Road
Stamps: The Greeting Farm, sentiment is PTI
Prima Flowers, Pearls, Copics, PTI Buttons, and Crystal Stickles

So You Think You Can Dance starts tonight...and I'm so excited. But I'm also a little sad. It's one of my "summer" shows and next summer I'm only gonna have Big Brother to get me through, lol. Anyhoo- I really hope Alex Wong is able to come back this season!! He couldn't be Top 20 last season because of his ballet contract. Such an amazing dancer!

Anyhoo...happy hump day! 15 more days until Grey's comes back!

ETA: I don't know for a fact there won't be another season next summer. But I'm guessing that because once they moved American Idol from a summer show to a winter show, it's never been on during the summer again. Since it's the same producer (Simon Fuller) and with their high ratings, why not be in with the big guys and make it a fall show?
