Skiing Riley Card

I broke my ankle when I was 8 on Thanksgiving. I've always been scared of breaking it again and since I can't stand the cold, skiing is just not the sport for me. :) I'll go up to the mountain, but I'll be the one reading and eating at the lodge by the fire. I also used Mojo Monday 112 for this card.

Paper: Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses
Stamps: Riley and Co, sentiment is PTI
Basic Grey Brads, Rhinestones, Copics, Nestabilities, Snowflake Punch, PTI Buttons, and Crystal Stickles

Everyone have a great Friday! I've worked 12 straight days, so I'm excited to just have a day off. I'm not complaining since the Managers Conference is always a blast, but I'm exhausted. I need to clean, do laundry, and get my house together. I also need to get some major crafting done. I hope to finish tons of stuff over my Thanksgiving weekend, since Brent and I have chosen not to go home this year.

We're going home for Christmas and New Years, so we'll see our families in due time. My In-laws are going to Vegas and we couldn't afford to go with them. Otherwise, we'd be celebrating with them! :) And since Anna (my step mom) isn't American-ized enough, she doesn't do the whole turkey thing.

Plus, we have to save some of our vacation time for the Olympics in February! I seriously can't wait. For other reasons...I want to move to Vancouver, BC! Another topic for another day, lol. Yeah, it's almost the weekend!

  4. I know what mean about skiing! I've tried it but far too clumsy and scared of taking someone else's head off! My hubbie goes off skiing and I'm the one sitting by the log fire too!

Love the card, Sparkle, so much fun!

  9. Hi Sparks =) SUPER CUTE Riley card! Oh, I'm right there with ya--I don't like to be out in the cold skiing, or sledding down hills. I'll stick with playing in the snow for little spurts of time with my kiddoes and that's good enough for me. I went tubing with our youth group in HS and almost broke my neck when I flipped out of it! UGH. Not for me!

Btw... your cards are ALL fabulous!! I see your etsy line up of cards in the column and they are all so vibrant and CUTE!! :)

Hope you have a nice quiet Thanksgiving at home. I get tired out every single holiday we end up having to go to BOTH sets of parents since they are all within 20 min. from us. Sometimes I just wanna stay home! LOL

Funny story, I went sking "ONCE" at Evergreen Park. This guy was sking down hill with his dog on a long rope. Guess who got caught in the rope and up against the tree. I never went sking again. And I live in WI. hehehehe

  19. I can so relate to the whole broken ankle thing, mine is still not totally healed. As for skiing, stopped that after I dislocated a knee.

Your card is fantastic as always, haven't seen this Riley before he is too cute.

Enjoy your much deserved days off. It's awesome staying home for a holiday.

  26. Cute Riley card...and I agree, a book by the fire beats out skiing in the cold any day!

  27. Right there with you by the fire when it comes to skiing! I broke my ankle at 12 ice skating. It took me a while to get back on the ice again. Living in a ski resort community though and being a nurse I've heard and seen too many bad skiing and snowboarding incident to ever try!

Enjoy some time to clean and craft, Sparks!
