Bella Color Challenge #52 - Tricktortreatabella Card

Bella Forum

Keyword: BCC52

SU: Black, Only Orange, Apricot Appeal, and Going Gray
CTMH: Black, Orange, Taffy, and Grey Wool

Up until I had to make a 3 x 6 card for one of my CBC Challenges, I wouldn't of ever thought to make a card that size. Well, for those who have the really long rectangle nestabilities...the largest one is about 3 x 6. Which is what my Bella is mounted on!

I don't have any spider web flourishes had to do! And they're so much cuter, lol.

Paper: CTMH
Stamps: Stamping Bella, CTMH Playful Flourishes
Copic Markers, Nestabilities, Prima Flowers, and CTMH Brads

I hope you all have a great and safe Halloween tomorrow. Brent has to work late, so I'll just be stamping and relaxing. Maybe passing out candy if anyone comes to the apartment. I'll probably just be in my no dressing up this year, lol.

And lastly, yeah for Grey's tonight!

Marjorie's Color Challenge #36

Okay, I kindof I'll take the boos, lol. Marjorie picked Topiary, Orange, Pansy Purple and Sunflower for her color challenge. Black was optional if you wanted to use it. But I just wasn't feeling the Sunflower, so I added Petal to the mix.

Well...I got this random image from Wish RAK and honestly, I can't figure it out. I mean, I get that its a ghost wearing a witches hat, but is it a child underneath? An animal? It's Whipper Snapper...and that all I know. :) The Batty for You image is also from Wish RAK.

Sorry my picture is kindof crooked and has crazy glitter flash glare, lol.

Paper: CTMH
Stamps: Whipper Snapper, SU, and CTMH Say It In Style
CTMH Brads, Crystal Stickles, Nestabilities, and Copic Markers

Everyone have a great hump day!

ETA: Valerie had surgery last week and it looks like they were able to remove it successfully. They did a scan and for now it looks like the cancer hasn't spread. I don't know the whole scoop yet, as her boyfriend relayed the info to Brent. We're going to see her this weekend though, so I'm hoping for the best for her! Thanks for all of your kind words about my card for her!

Created By Courtney Challenge #11

This week's challenge is a sketch challenge! I must say I had a harder time with this one. I think I'm just not a "circle" type of girl, lol. I received this image from Wish RAK and I just had to use it with my fun candy corn paper. If you follow Marjorie's blog or pay attention to what I upload on Split Coast, then you probably have already seen it.

Paper: Heidi Grace
Stamps: House Mouse, CTMH Say It With Style
Copic Markers, Ribbon, and Nestabilities

Don't forget to check out the rest of the team's cards. All of them are listed under the CBC Challenge Chicks list on the right side of my blog. If you play along with us, you could win a prize from Courtney! Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Something a Little More Personal...

There is no artwork attached to this, so I totally won't be offended if you don't read it or just cruise on by it. But, if you by chance make it all the way through...thanks for listening to me ramble.

Not to be depressing, but you all know that my mom past away 4 years ago. She was born and raised in Hilo, Hawaii and upon her request, we buried her there so that she could be with her parents and 3 other generations of my grandma's (her mom's) family.

My mother, a cousin, and my grand Aunt (my grandma's sister) all past away within 6 months of each other. My grand Aunt was never married and lived in the Loo family house. We decided that we wanted all of their grave stoves to match their families...and we would use money from my Aunt's estate to do that. The family has fought over the estate this whole time, hence why its taken so long for it to actually close and get distributed. Well, 4 years later...and alot of craziness in between (my mom's crazy sister put a grave stone on my mom's plot, we had it removed, and she tried to take my grandparent's urns from my dad--you might remember all this if you followed my livejournal when I posted on there)...they have finally put my mom's grave stone in place.

Originally we thought they wouldn't place it down without one of us going there, but they have already put it in. I've been wanting to go...but figured I'd wait. Brent has never been to Hawaii and I would love to take him. Of course to do fun things as well...and do a real vacation out of it. Realistically we wouldn't be able to go soon, as we're trying to get things settle with the car, a home, and him eventually going back to school. I've been saving and planning for us to go in 2010 or maybe 2011, depending on his school schedule and what we could work out.

My dad told me that my brother wants to go...and that means he would go soon. Probably before the year is over or maybe January. I'm torn between just going with him and waiting to go later...

Not that I couldn't go twice, but for me to go now would be a huge cost...especially with Catherine's wedding coming up. But I'm happy to be MOH and the cost of that is priceless, especially since she was my MOH and did so much for me. So I'm not complaining...just being realistic about my situation. And I wouldn't compromise Catherine's wedding for anything. But then I feel like I'd regret not going with my brother...especially since I don't know what my situation will be like in the future.

I guess I should just suck it up and go...and if it works out, take Brent later. I guess I'm getting myself on yet another long air plane ride, lol...but at least I can fly Seattle to Honolulu in a straight shot! Maybe I'll have Brien drive up here from Portland and we can just fly together...since he'd most likely go Portland to San Fransisco and then to Honolulu. Though I know you can fly Portland to Honolulu too.

Its time like this that I miss having my LJ cut and mood icons...

Valentines in October

This month the Rubber Cafe Design Team is working on Valentines. This a more traditional and girly version of the fan card I made last week. It's weird to go from making Halloween cards to Valentines, lol. But it's been fun so far and I really like how my card turned out. I got the sentiment from Wish RAK.

Paper: Basic Grey 2 Scoops, CTMH
Stamps: Rubber Cafe Large Lace Fan and Love Words, Sentiment is SU
Pearls, Copic Markers, CTMH Buttons and Floss, and Crystal Stickles

I hope you all have a great Monday! It's back to work for me!

The Winner of the Bagalope is... and some Hawaiian Babes!

There were 3 people who guessed right. I put Kleenex in the bagalope. My Kleenex box sits on top of my computer tower, which is right next to my craft table. Carri, Melissa, and Kelly all guessed correctly. I drew names and Melissa will get the bagalope with images! I will also send Carri and Kelly images as well.

I already have Melissa's address, as we're on the Rubber Cafe DT together...but Carri and Kelly, please email me your addresses. My email addy is Thanks everyone for guessing! The ones that made me laugh were Vicki's and Marjorie's...a tampon and empty candy wrappers, lol.

With my mom on my mind today...this Tilda reminds me of her, as my mom was born and raised on the Big Island. Now, I must preface this post with that what I'm about to write is not meant to be offensive to please don't take this personally. And Brent would never say this in public, lol.

I was working on my Tilda card and I asked Brent what he thought of my card...he'll answer me honestly, as long as I'm not interrupting some important sports game, lol.

B: Whoa, she's got a really big face...and she's fat.
S: What? How is she fat? And compared to who?
B: Well...she's big...and Bella isn't fat.

Paper: Colorbok
Stamps: Magnolia, Sentiment is Stamping Bella
Prima Flowers, Bella Dots, and Crystal Stickles

And heres a card I made awhile ago for Laura. Just so you could see what Brent saw, lol.

Have a happy Saturday!

CTMH Princess T-shirt

I told Jenn and Nona that I would find this and post this. This is the only shirt I ever made with CTMH stamps. If you've been around with CTMH for a long time, you might remember this set. It's been retired for many years already. And this shirt was made before I even became a CTMH consultant.

I stamped it with Fabrico ink (which I know the brand name has changed) and colored it in with puffy paint. I don't have this t-shirt anymore and honestly, I don't think I ever wore it. I did make a few for my mom's co-worker's daughters though.

We had a good time last night...I hope we didn't scare Rachel though, lol. I hope you're all enjoying your Friday.

MFT Who's That Girl Challenge #6 and Some Sad News

You probably have noticed that all of the challenges on Split Coast have incorporated the color pink this week. I was sad to miss National Lee Denim Day this year while I was in Europe. It's one of the only times I get to wear jeans at work and its for a great cause, helping to cure Breast Cancer.

I was hoping to use Causeabella at least a couple of times this year. Maybe I can still squeeze one in before the month is over, lol. I am running out of "pre-posts" and will be down to just my DT work soon.

The challenge this week was to use pink and purple with the Bunny Slippers stamp set. On Monday night I found out that one of our good friends has ovarian cancer. She's still quite young, as she's only 21. I haven't seen Val since the week before I went to Europe, as she's a full time college student and on the women's basketball team. They still need to do some more tests and scans on her, so I don't know everything yet...or what kind of treatment course she will be taking. So please keep Valerie in your thoughts. (This is a different Valerie from my Bella jumping in the window post.)

Paper: CTMH Whoops a Daisy
Stamps: MFT Bunny Slippers

Changes, Changes, and Bella Color Challenge #51 - Witchybella Card

I wanted to let you all know that Bella Color Challenge #53 on November 6th, will be my last one. I am handing them over to Laura (llevans on SCS) and she will start with BCC54 on November 13th. Laura doesn't have a you'll have to check in the Bella Forum for the new color challenges.

Now... please don't be scared...I still lovey my Bellas just as much as I always have. I haven't gone that insane, lol. And I will still be part of hosting the Bella Bashes! (Laura and I are hosting for you better be there, lol.) So you'll still see me in the Bella Forums. We've also just recently added Hope into our little group, so please welcome her at the next Bella Bash!

I really appreciate the time I've spent hosting these challenges and thank you to those who have played with me! And I know you'll have just as much fun with Hope, Laura, Shannan, and Jamie.

Okay, back to the color challenge! You have until midnight tonight to finsh Bella Color Challenges 21 through 50 and then I will draw the winner sometime Friday after I get off work! Good luck!

Bella Forum

Key Word: BCC51

SU: Really Rust, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, and BlackCTMH: Autumn Terracotta, Pansy Purple, Olive, and Black

In spirit of Halloween coming up, BCC #51 and #52 are both different color combinations for the holiday. Witchy Bella reminds me of when I dressed up as a witch for a fraternity Halloween party. The line at the front door to get in was sooooo long, so my sorority sister Valerie and I jumped in some guys window to get into the party. Oh, my crazy undergrad days, lol. The rest of our friends had to wait another hour in line before they got in.

Paper: CTMH Enchanted
Stamps: Bella, CTMH Say It With Style
Brads, Nestabilites, Copic Markers, and Cuttlebug

Everyone have a great Thursday! And yeah for Grey's! :) What do you think Ellis wrote about in her diary? About Richard? Hmmm...and don't spoil it for me! I'm going to Nona's I will probably be watching it on my DVR Friday night, lol.

Blog Candy and Marjorie's Color Challenge #35

Marjorie is doing Halloween color challenges and so am I! You just don't know it yet, since the Bella Color Challenge is tomorrow! So I hope you all have fun and join us in our Halloween spirit! You haven't seen the end of Trickortreatabella yet!

I had never made a bagalope before...and had to look it up on Split Coast. But after a little practice, (I only ruined one envelope) I got it to work and I think it came out darling. I'm not sure why I've never made one of these before. I realized that they're a great and fancy way to package gift cards! You can see directions here.

Okay, back to the challenge...Marjorie picked Goldrush, Sweet Leaf, Creme Brulee, and Smokey Plum for her colors. I just love fall colors!

Paper: CTMH
Stamps: Magnolia, CTMH Say It In Style
Prima Flowers, CTMH Buttons, Twill, Copic Markers, and White Gel Pen

So...can you guess what is inside of my bagalope? Whoever guesses right, I will send you the bagalope and fill it with Tilda images. I will give you until Friday at midnight to guess. And then I'll draw a winner on Saturday.

I'll give you a couple of hints...
1. I made the bagalope with a standard A2 envelope.
2. There really is something in there...its not "nothing" or "air."
3. It's not something anyone would want. You would be disappointed if I sent it to you, lol.

Good luck everyone and have a great hump day!

Surpriseabella Card and Created By Courtney Challenge #10

This week for our challenge, we were to make a pocket card. I figured this would be a fun Birthday card to put a gift card in. The piece with the ribbon pulls out. I just punched a half circle with my ancient Creative Memories circle punch...but nowadays its probably easier to use the nestabilities.

Paper: Basic Grey, CTMH
Stamps: Stamping Bella
Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, CTMH Bigger Brads, and Nestabilities

Don't forget to check out the rest of the team's cards. All of them are listed under the CBC Challenge Chicks list on the right side of my blog. If you play along with us, you could win a prize from Courtney! Everyone have a great Tuesday!

I've been tainted...Halloween Trickortreatabella Card

I was really good with my correspondence up until about a few months before the wedding. And then I haven't been good about picking it back up. I think doing all of the wedding thank you cards wore me out.

Nicole Heady was talking about how her and her best friend live in different states and make dates every weekend to talk. It reminded me of my friends, especially Catherine. So, I decided it was time for me to send cards to my friends once again.

Now, I've been dying to make Halloween cards with my Trickortreatabella. My fellow Challenge Chick Sarah made a really cute card with her Bella the other day...and after reading Noelle's comment on Sarah's card, I will never be able to look at Trickortreatabella the same. :)

Here's the card I made for my friends. The paper is shimmery, so it looks weird with the flash. I got the Batty For You images from Wish RAK and was glad to use some of them up.

Paper: Heidi Grace, CTMH
Stamps: Stamping Bella, SU Batty For You
Copic Markers, Nestabilities, and CTMH Brads

I hope you all enjoy your Saturday!

Marjorie's Color Challenge #34 -- Tilda Card

This Tilda reminds me of Emily...I think its just the pigtails and the cute cherry outfit. Of course Tilda doesn't have a nice smile like Em! Marjorie picked Cranberry, Twilight, Creme Brulee, and Brown Bag for her colors this week. I don't own any Brown Bag just colored that in with my markers.

Paper: CTMH
Stamps: Magnolia, CTMH
Prima Flowers and CTMH Buttons

So, what do you think? Isn't Em just a ham?!? I miss her so much...I wanna go home and see my Mini-me! But, I probably won't make it back to Portland til Christmas. :(

I'm not sure why...but I've been into making square cards. And for some odd reason, I love 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 so much more. I know you ladies can sympathize a little bit more with me than Brent can. I lost one of my nestabilites circles...and I seriously can't find it! Anyhoo, hope you all have a great weekend.

Created By Courtney Challenge #9

In November we'll be adding 2 new Challenge Chicks! I have already added Chris's and Maria's links to my blog list, because if I wait another 3 weeks, I'll forget...and then I'll feel bad. But I'm very happy to welcome these fabulous chicks into our groupie.

Rubber Cafe and Marjorie's Color Challenge #33

I'm still working on challenge #32, but since Sorbet is my new favorite color, #33 came together a little easier for me. :) Since I was gone in Europe, I'm way behind on my cards, but will get these out in the mail ASAP to Melissa and as soon as I get my next round of rubber, we're making valentines.

Marjorie picked Bamboo, Garden Green, Sorbet, and Taffy for her color challenge. This card is pretty simple, but I think its nice and elegant!

Paper: CTMH
Stamps: Rubber Cafe Two Leaves and Highwing Butterfly, CTMH Say It In Style
CTMH Brads, Copic Makers, and Crystal Stickles

When I picked out my images, I just flipped through the catalog and didn't really pay attention to the actual size. When I received this stamp, I was shocked at how big it was, lol. I had to bust out my 4 1/2 x 6 acrylic block...the biggest one CTMH makes.

I colored this very non-traditionally, as flowers are not green and leaves are not blue. But I had the paper left over from my 3 Little Dream's August SNSS kit and wanted to match the pattern on the paper. I love how it came out! Very artsy!

Paper: K and Company
Stamps: Rubber Cafe Thisle Flower, CTMH Say It With Style
CTMH Ribbon, Crystal Stickles, Copic Markers, and Nestabilities

My cards for Round 2 of Just Johanna's DT tryouts are due on Wednesday. Since I was gone, I decided I would give myself some extra time and overnight my cards today (just going WA to CA, so should be okay). I will share my cards later this week and then you'll see how challenging this was for me. Hope you all have a great Monday...its back to work for me! I don't get Columbus Day off.

And for my Bella lovers...remember the Bella Bash is this Wednesday night at 7pm Central. Emily is up to we'll all have to wait and see. I'm not sure if she's introducing a new artist or stamps...but you won't want to miss it. Plus, Shannan and Laura are hosting challenges with prizes this month! Don't miss the Bella Monster Bash! :)

My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge #51

I still have cards to finish for my DT submissions...but I'm not very good at creating while I'm under a lot of pressure. So I decided to work on a few other things in hopes that I could keep my creative momentum.

October tends to be a sad time of the year for me, as it makes me think of my mother. Her passing anniversary will be on October 22nd and I can't believe its been 4 years already. Wow, how much my life has changed since then. Plus, October has my dad's, my brother's, and my cousin Christine's birthday. And of course Halloween. :)

I don't own this stamp set yet, but I got these images from Wish RAK. My mom's favorite color was purple, so of course I had to use it.
Paper: Bo Bunny, CTMH
Stamps: MFT Happy Mother's Day
CTMH Ribbon, Buttons, Copic Markers, Crystal Stickles

Today I took Brent to work so I could keep the car. I went to the bank, the mall, and then went to pick up our dry cleaning. The Gala and Manager's Conference (for Moneytree) is next month and normally I'm so excited for it. I still am (despite everything else)...and went and got new clothes for it. I already had it in my budget, so I decided to still get them. Plus, it's clothes that I'll wear to work all the time. I buy new work clothes for the Manager's Congerence each year, so its usually a great shopping trip for me.

I spent over 2 hours in Ann Taylor Loft...and I came home with another green outfit (olive green skirt and black shirt) and another black suit. I know, I know...boring and totaly typical of me, lol. Brent would totally disapprove. Almost all of my work clothes are black, white, grey, and green. People comment on how I match all the time...but really its because I don't vary too much in color.

As for the Gala, I'm not buying a new dress this year. I think I'm going to wear my bridesmaid dress from Shannon's wedding. It's black, so pretty neutral. And next year I'll be wearing my bridesmaids dress from Catherine's wedding. :) I need to still get my hair dyed and cut...which I will the weekend before. I'm skipping out on getting my nails done this year, but I will probably pay to get an up-do this year since I'm not buying a new dress. I always use our Gala picture as our Christmas picture...but will probably send that and a wedding pic this year.

Here's Brent and I from last year's Gala.

Anyhoo- enough of my Gala adventures...hope you're all enjoying your weekend!

HSAC5 Hanna Card, Some Personal Things, and More Europe Pics

I can't hide anything from you all, lol. I'm just joking...but I should of figured people would notice the banner. I tried out for the Rubber Cafe DT before I left to go to Europe. I'm very happy I made it and can't wait to catch up with everyone else. I recognize many of the ladies from SCS and can't wait to get to know them better.

Its only 2 cards per month, so it's not too overwhelming. Which is great, since I hope to make Just Johanna's DT. But we'll see how that goes. I don't want to get my hopes too high and I'll be okay if I don't make it. It just means I haven't found the right place for me yet. Lately though, I've seen alot of companies post on SCS for DT submissions.

On a more personal note, I am going to be cutting back on my crafting and blogging. I will still be doing my challenges and of course all of my DT work. I just need time to re-focus on life and figure out a few things. We kindof had a set back with my car and as of right now, we're sharing 1 car with 2 very different work schedules. I've been blessed which such great bosses so that they have allowed me to work around Brent's schedule for now. (I could ride the bus...but we decided it wasn't really safe for me to ride it home in the dark and then have to walk to the apartments...especially since my car got stolen there.)

Our next big goal is to get a house. I know this can be a long and frustrating process. But I hope that Brent and I can start putting effort into it and we'll just take it from there. In the end, I know it'll all work out the way its suppose to. Plus Brent really wants to go back to graduate I'm trying to get him squared away for his GREs.

And finally for what you really came here for. This was for Hanna's anniversary release and we were suppose to use buttons in this challenge. While these are summer stamps, I paired them up with more fallish colors. I love how my card came out!

Paper: CTMH
Stamps: Hanna Stamps
Copic Markers, Prima Flowers, and CTMH Buttons

If you made it through all of my rambling, thank you! Hope you all have a great Friday! I plan on just resting after work!
