Created By Courtney Challenge #7

As you read this, I will be leaving Paris to go to London. We're taking the underground train to get there. It should be wonderful to be back in an English speaking country. I'm so excited to see the palace! And I've always thought Harry was cuter than William. I remember in high school, one of my choir friends loved Prince William. Her name was Jill and wanted to become Princess Ji, like Princess Di, lol.

Today's challenge is to take a card and case it. I'm not totally sure, but I believe the original card is Marjorie's...I took it off of the CTMH Boards last year. My card didn't come out as good as I would of hoped it too...but it's okay. Marjorie creates awesome artwork always anyways. :) I changed the colors from Garden Green (or maybe its Sweet Leaf) to Sorbet. I didn't have the same clip so that's different and I didn't do any sponging around the edges. Though, it would probably make my card look a lot better, lol. My circles are a little bit bigger, but the next size down on my nestabilities would of been too small.

Don't forget to look at Courtney's, Dani's, Heidi's, Lorie's, and Sarah's projects too! If you play with us, you could win a prize from Courtney!

Ballet Sophie

Hanna Stamps and Eclectic Paperie teamed up to make Ballet Sophie to help a little girl Kelly who has a grade 4 glioblastoma multiforme (brain tumor). What a sweet thing for Kristi to do for Kelly and her family. Plus, you know I lovey the moose!

Paper: CTMH Perfect Day

Have a great Monday everyone! I hope to see the Mona Lisa today! :)

Holiday Line Up!

Peace...peace...peace on Earth and goodwill to all...my saying reminds me of this song that we sang in 6th grade choir. It was a round that was meant to go with Silent Night.

I got this image from Wish RAK. I had alot of fun with this image and am excited to use them for some of my Christmas cards. I suppose they're elves...but I realized they're all guys. :)

Paper: CTMH Evensong
Stamps: SU Holiday Line Up, CTMH Say It In Style
Liquid Applique, CTMH Buttons, and Copic Markers

Have a great Sunday all! I'll be moving on to Paris! C'est la Vie!

I got this image from Wish RAK. I just love all of the little plants and herbs that MFT has now. Doesn't it make you just feel a little bit calmer?!? It makes me want to spend the day at the spa. And purple was my mom's favorite color, so it always reminds me of her.

Paper: CTMH Paper Flower

I hope you're all having a great Saturday! Miss you all!

Paper Pretties

One of my buddies Jenn Diaz sent me these cute images awhile back. I've been hoarding them, but finally gave in to using them, lol. Very simple card, but I love the bright colors! I've been resisting these stamps...but I think I'll eventually cave in and buy some...we'll see.

Hope you all are having a great Friday!

Bella Color Challenge #47 - Icantseeathingabella Surprise Card

Are you pumped for the 2 hour premiere of Grey's?!? While its awesome to be in Rome, I am a little sad to miss my favorite show ever! But that's what I have DVR for. So when I return, I will be able to catch up! So, no spoiling it for me, okay?!?

Bella Forum

Key Word: BCC47

SU: Ruby Red, Taken With Teal, Regal Rose, and Gable Green
CTMH: Cranberry, Ocean, Blush, and Key Lime

Don't forget about my prize I'm giving away on week Challenge #50! You still have plenty of time to catch up on all of them!

Paper: CTMH Cardstock, Lifes Delight
Stamps: I-can't-see-a-thing-abella
Prima Flowers, Rhinestones, Copic Markers, and Crystal Stickles

Have you ever had a surprise party? No one's ever thrown me a surprise party. The closest I've gotten was my bridal shower and bachelorette parties. I knew where to be at what time, but no other details.
I have thrown a couple of surprise parties though...both were successful! I threw a surprise birthday party for one of my high school friends. It was a rough year as her dad past away our Senior year...so we all got together and threw her a party at my parents house.

Then, I threw a baby shower for my step-mom when she had Emily. She was shocked when she walked in the door...and there were at least 30 people there. It was great.

Anyhoo- do you miss me yet?!? I know I will be missing my stamps, lol. And of course I miss you all too! Can't wait to see what you all make when I get back!

Sled Elzybells

Because CTMH is retiring Breeze, we will eventually lose this paper pack. Not really that sad about the paper, but very sad about the color. I already got rid of the old colors and have the new colors, but I can still whine a little bit, right?!? And I'll take some swiss cheese with that thank you! Okay...still trying to let go of the past, lol.

Paper: CTMH Just Chillin'
Stamps: Elzybells
Copic Markers, Liquid Applique, Nestabilities, and CTMH Buttons

I just love this image...but I keep thinking, I would freeze in an outfit like that. :) I would need long and very warm pants! Happy Hump Day!

Lattebella Card and Created By Courtney Challenge #6

By the time you see this, I will be in Rome. I really wanted to go to Milan to see Louie Vuitton and Prada. Maybe buy a purse or two, lol. But Brent really wanted to go to Rome. I guess that just means I will have to plan "another" trip back to Italy, lol. Do I have any takers?!? My MIL was telling me about one of her friends who did a cruise around Italy. That sounded like a lot of fun too.

This week for Courtney's challenge is a sketch challenge. I couldn't handle another card with Teachabella, so since Lattebella was a prior 3 Little Dreams Bella Kit stamp, I thought it'd be okay to use her. :) I must say though, I love this paper and Katie did a great job at picking it out.

Paper: EK
Stamps: Stamping Bella, CTMH Say It In Style

Prima Flowers, Bella Dots, Brads, Copic Markers, Nesties, and Cuttle Bug
Don't forget to look at Courtney's, Dani's, Heidi's, Lorie's, and Sarah's cards too! If you play with us, you could win a prize from Courtney!  Ciao! Thats all the Italian I know, lol!

Hi From Austria

Hi all! The not so fun stuff first...

So...they found my car...and its not looking too good. State Farm told me it has no wheels, lots of damage and parts missing. They're thinking its going to most likely be a total loss...but they'll know in a few days.

I left all of my stuff with my boss, since she was so kind to help me out with it since all of my family lives in Oregon. They'll let her know and then she can just email me...since it cost an arm and a leg to call home.

But on a better note...the trip is going really well. On our first day, Brent and I went to a German rock band concert. Drew and Lisa share an apartment with another couple, and their roommate Jens Daniel is the main singer for his band Mokka. They're actually really good...just can't understand what they're saying, lol. So I hope one day they produce some English songs. Brent bought their album and we had them autograph it. Brent also got a band tshirt too.

Today we went to a spa that covers over a natural warm spring. Its the neatest place I've ever been. It reminded me of Catherine...as it would be a really cool place to have just a girls week there. There's 6 different pools...saunas, salt water bath, steam rooms, and all of the regular spa services. I guess the Germans are really into this and they promote this as a good way to relax and have good health. If you're really stressed out, doctors can prescribe days here and its all covered by their insurance. Don't you wish you could get a prescription for a day at the spa?!?

Tomorrow Brent and I are going to see the Fortress. We wanted to go see the Eagle's Nest (one of Hitler's hideouts) but the weather wasn't really working out for us. So we went to the spa instead. But going downtown and seeing the Fortress should be fun.

We're skipping out on the Sound of Music tour...it cracks me up how "big" that is here. But I guess that makes sense since it was filmed here. Drew told me that these people make a ton of money here for it and they sell all sorts of Sound of Music stuff. I love the Sound of Music, don't get me wrong...but Drew said it wasn't worth our money to go on it, lol.

Well...I just wanted to check in and say hi. I hope all is well with everyone else! Ciao!

Bella Birdies

I got this image from Stamping Bella. I just thought the little bird house was adorable. There's actually no snow in the image, but thought it would be cute to have the edges done with liquid applique.

It's not my most favorite card...but I don't hate it either. I'll just send it to someone who won't really care. I know that sounds mean...but I know most of you can relate...there are just some who open the card, read what you wrote...and into the trash it goes. Well, hopefully people at least recycle it, right?!?

Paper: CTMH Evensong
Stamps: Stamping Bella, Sentiment is Ezlybells
Copic Markers, CTMH Buttons, Nestabilities, and Liquid Applique

Hope you all have a great Monday and start to your week...for once, it's NOT going back to work for me! Yeah for vacation!

Playing Around...

This is a Pagemaps layout from their August 2008 newsletter. These pictures were taken almost about 9 months ago. Wow, Em has grown so much since then, lol. I woke her up from a nap, but she was fine...she was just running around and goofing off with me. Sometimes when I go home to play with her, she's not that into me taking pictures, but I always still do. She's so tall now...and I probably won't see her til Christmas...but I will buy her tons of presents from Europe. :)

I'm not really a "yellow" person, but since Em is wearing a yellow shirt...I knew this paper would just match perfectly. I must thank Christine tons and tons again because she gave me a printer and I can do my journaling again!

Fall For the September Bella Bash Challenge #2 - Kintabella Card

Since I couldn't be more creative with the "Fall" theme, I chose to do a color challenge. I promise to switch it up more for November when I host a challenge again.

Fall For the September Bella Bash Challenge #1 - Snowbunnybella Card

Laura's challenge was "Falling" in love...as which Bella made you fall in love with their stamps? I know quite a few of you blame me for your Bella addiction, which I will still take gracious as long as I don't have a bunch of angry husbands after me, lol.

Unfortunately, due to IKE, Laura had to leave and is safely home now. Still no power and has limited internet through her cell phone. So, Jamie has stepped in and changed the challenge to "Falling for Laura," where everyone will CASE one of Laura's cards. Since this was a last minute change...my card does not reflect the challenge correctly. With everything going on with my car and getting ready to go...I'm sorry that I didn't have time to make a new card.

Korin is actually the one who got me hooked on the Bellas. And Snowbunnybella is my all time favorite! Even though I can't use her year round, lol. She is the one who stole my heart and made me Bella obsessed! (She was the first one I ordered!) Last year at this time, I didn't have Copics yet...so oddly enough, this was the first time I've ever colored her in with them.

Paper: Basic Grey Figgy Pudding
Stamps: Stamping Bella, Snowflake is CTMH Jan Puzzle
Liquid Applique, Copic Markers, CTMH Buttons, and Nestabilities

You have until Saturday night 10pm Central Time to participate in the challenges and will have a chance to win a prize. Since I will be gone, Jamie will be picking the winner for my color challenge! Good luck!

Hmm...Blog Candy soon?!?

So I realize we're going to hit 50,000 hits while I'm gone...I may have to get something fun in Europe to give away.

Catherine and I were talking last night...and we agreed that the older we get, the less we like to fly. Now, flying has never bothered me. Having most of my family living in southern California and Hawaii, I've been flying since I was a wee little one. Same for Emily and Michael...and they do awesome on the plane! Kindof surprising for Em...I'm a mean big sis, huh?!?

Which is so different in Brent's case...as the first time he ever flew anywhere was to Las Vegas for his 21st birthday. I know its not that unheard of, but just different to me since flying was just a normal part of my life.

This is the first time I've been on a plane since Christmas...which makes up for all the crazy traveling I did last year. I still haven't been inside SeaTac Airport enough to know it very well. But Denver wasn't too bad once you figured out there were 2 sides to it...and just made sure you were on the "right" side, lol.

The longest flight I've had so far was to Costa Rica. I flew Portland to Houston and then Houston to San Jose, CR. Tomorrow we go Seattle to Chicago and then Chicago to Munich, Germany. Good thing I'm a good airplane sleeper...but I hope Brent does okay.

Bella Color Challenge #46 - Arivedercibella Card

Today is Brent's and I's anniversary...not really anymore, but it's when we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend 7 years ago. I will probably be in a frenzy, as I'll be gathering up all of our last minute stuff to fly out tomorrow! I am soooooo excited!

I made this way before I made my Passport Hanna card. But I had a lot of fun with this card. I put all the cities I'll be visiting on there.

CTMH: Olive, Blush, Heavenly Blue, and Tulip

I have scheduled postings through October 7th...and then I'll be back. I'm hoping to throw in a few "live" posts from Europe in as well. It'll probably be funny for me to come back and read what I wrote ahead of time and what I write in the moment.

Remember, you still have 4 weeks to catch up with all of the color challenges and I'll be drawing for a prize the week of challenge #50!

Howdy Ho Partner!

Okay, I had to play with my Wish RAK images. While I am so not a country cowgirl, I just love western things, lol. Plus, Billy is just a cutie! I don't have any of Lily...so sorry he couldn't have a friend, lol.

Paper: CTMH Sarsaprilla
Stamps: Pink Cat Studio Billy
Copic Markers, CTMH Brads

Don't forget...it's the Fall Bella Bash tonight in the Bella Forums. There will be challenges and prizes! Last month the winners got $25 gift certificates to Stamping Bella! And I'm hosting a challenge this time! Hope to see you at 7:30pm Centeral...thats 5:30pm my time! Happy Hump Day!

ETA: I will be a little late to the Bella Bash...I have to go get a letter notarized so my boss can get my car out of impound, in the event they recover it while I'm gone. And then she can turn it over to State Farm. Still haven't heard anything...and still hoping it'll show up before I leave!

And for my fellow 90210 fans...I was right, Kelly's son is Dylan's child! :)

Hippiebella Card and Created by Courtney Challenge #5

Today's challenge is suppose to be all about punches. Except I don't really have punches. I have circle and square ones from CM from way back yonder. So...I kindof cheated and used my Nestabilities.

I guess I'm not very good at following the rules, huh? I promise to be better in the future...lol. The paper is from the 3 Little Dream's Sweet n Sassy September Kit.

Paper: Bo Bunny
Stamps: Hippiebella
Copic Markers, Prima Flowers, Bella Dots

So you probably know that the #1 question people ask me is, "Is Sparkle your real name?" And then #2 is usually, "Were your parents hippies?" And that's what Hippiebella reminds me of, lol. And no, my parents were not hippies.

Don't forget to check out Courtney's, Dani's, Heidi's, Lorie's, and Sarah's cards too. If you play with us, you have a chance to win a prize from Courtney! Everyone have a great Tuesday!

Monday, September 15, 2008

This layout isn't new...I made it last April right before I left to visit Catherine in Washington, DC. But I chose to post it...because it's a happy picture of me with my car! I'm at my dad's house in Gresham, Oregon.

I've had my Civic since 2000...brand new...and I'm so sad, because even today, 8 years later, I only had 83,000 miles on it. I always said I would keep my car for at least 10 years...so hopefully it'll come back to me!

I still haven't heard anything back on my car...but granted its only been a day. I'm going to State Farm in the morning to talk to my rep in person. I need to figure out as much as I can before I leave. Unfortunately, I think I'll end up having to make alot of phone calls while I'm gone.

This was one of Pam's challenges...and if I remember right, you were suppose to make your title a song name and only use 1 picture. This was a reflection page for me as I hadn't been to DC since my senior year in high school.

If you want to read my journaling...just click on the picture to enlarge it.

Anyhoo- I hope you all have a great Monday. After going to State Farm, Brent will drop me off at work and its going to be a long day!

ETA: Lol, wow, I haven't changed that much in 8 years, eh? If you look at my picture and my profile pic (which was taken this year). I've only matured in the face. :)

Elzybells Sketch Challenge #1

The UK Elzybells DT will be doing Sketch Challenges every other week. Since the only Elzybells I have are Christmas/Winter ones, you'll have to put up with my Christmas cards til I get more. (You can't use A muse stamps for these challenges.)

I was kindof bummed because Elizabeth did the DT call while I was away getting married. And by the time I came back from Portland, she had already picked her team. Oh, well...I believe all things happen for a reason and this was just not part of my path. But that doesn't stop me from shopping, lol.

Paper: Basic Grey Figgy Pudding
Stamps: Elzybells Winter Song
CTMH Sassy Strands, Nestabilities, Copic Markers, Cuttlebug, and Liquid Applique

I thought I would be coming home to tell you about the lovely evening we were suppose to have on Saturday. Val and Flip had a surprise for us and we were told to be dressed up and ready to go somewhere. They came earlier to watch the Oregon football game...and then we all got ready to go. We go outside and my car is gone!?! So...instead of going on our surprise...our night consisted of calling 911, calling State Farm, and filing a police report.

It's such bad timing...as we're leaving soon...and who knows when they'll find the car. The only good news I have for you is that I'm fully insured. So, at least I know I'll be okay. I'm really hoping they'll find the car before I leave so I have a better idea of what we're going to do. I'm scared to see it once they find it, if they find it. I'm hoping either the damage isn't too bad or that its totalled. I just know they'll be problems with the car if the damage is anywhere inbetween. It's probably in Canada by now...

Anyhoo- please keep me and Brent in your thoughts...and cross your fingers they find my car soon.

Flower Friendship Card

I have become a Making Memories fan! I just love all of their new paper! This paper is from the Noteworthy set. Orange is really in this year and I'm rolling with it!

This is a simple card, but I love the "white" space...it's actually colonial white...which is like cream. Does anyone still live by the rule, no white after Labor Day, lol?!?

Paper: Making Memories Noteworthy
Stamps: CTMH Cottage Floral, Friendship Puzzle

I hope you're all enjoying the weekend. Brent isn't working, so that means a full day of college football, lol. Go Beavs!

Yummy Ice Cream!

Isn't this guy from CC Designs just adorable? He comes in right after Riley. For a girl who hasn't owned any pets herself, sure does love her little critters, lol.

He was part of my already colored stack and decided I would use this fun paper Catherine sent me. She made my marriage advice book out of it. Of course me being OCD, had to have matching paper so my layouts in my scrapbook match. Catherine had an extra pack of paper and sent it to me. :)

Paper: Colorbok
Stamps: CC Designs Sweet Treats
Prima Flowers, Copic Markers, Bella Dots, Crystal Stickles, and Cuttlebug

I hope you all have a great Friday!

Bella Color Challenge #45 - Nurseabella Card

Do you remember where you were when you heard about the Twin Towers? I think that will be something everyone in our generation will never forget.

I woke up to a note that was written on the kitchen table from my mom. I was the only one home, because in Oregon college starts super late...the last week of September. I remember calling and waking up Brent, well in college 8am is VERY early, lol. And we were in total disbelief. We watched the news all day. And luckily all of our immediate and close family, live on the West Coast and in Hawaii. I know there were so many who weren't as fortunate.

I would like to honor our country today and all of the people who helped and volunteered to help save lives. That is what influenced my color challenge today.

Hanna Stamps September Release Party Challenge #2

This challenge was to celebrate the end of summer by making a card with flowers. Well, since all I talk about now is my trip to Europe, that's what inspired this card. I actually bought this Hanna just for that reason...to use her in my scrapbook when I get back from this trip. The set even comes with the Eiffel Tower.

Gabby (FannieMae on SCS) made some gorgeous cards and won both of the stamps sets for these challenges. I couldn't help but be a little disappointed...not that I didn't win really, but just thought that they should of spread the love a little more out and picked different winners for each set. Oh, well...lucky girl. And sincerely, she is really talented!

Paper: Making Memories Passport
Stamps: Passport Hanna
Copics, MM Passport Stickers, Prima Flowers, Bigger Brads

I was on the All That Scraps Forum for their September release tonight. I was a good girl...I haven't bought anything yet. But they have some really cute ones...so once I get back I'll have to order. But they were talking about Copics and one of the gals has over 250 of them already. So it got me thinking and I just counted all of my markers. I have 136 of them. There's 322 available colors in the Sketch ones...which are the ones I have...so I guess I'm almost half way there, lol. I only have 16 re-inkers, so many more re-inkers to go.

One of the gals told me she buys 12 markers and 4 re-inkers every month to pace herself. I thought that was pretty smart...so I might adjust it to more of a bi-monthly thing for me. Because if I ordered markers every month, that would lower the numner of stamps I could get. And that would bother me more, lol. So maybe more like 15 markers and 6 re-inkers every 2 months. Do I dare ask how many Copics you have?!?

Don't forget...in a week is the Fall Bella Bash. I'll be hosting a challenge! So remember to come play with us in the Bella Forum! 7:30pm Central Time. Happy Hump Day all!

Created By Courtney Challenge #4

This weeks challenge was Think Inside the Box...either make a box or alter a box. I kindof cheated and used a tin...but it's basically a box shape. I used the paper from 3 Little Dreams Bella September kit to decorate it. Then I used Baubles in orange, blue, and brown to decorate the top.

I'm not really a chocolate person...but I do like some chocolate. Especially with caramel. I'm totally a caramel person. And yes, I picked them because the caramel ones come in orange foil wrappers to match!

Oh, yeah...the tin is from Papertrey Ink if anyone wanted to know. And now that I'm thinking about it, it would of been cute if I made matching covers for the chocolates, huh? Oh, well...I know now for the future. These would make cute little gifts for stockings or co-workers. I might make some Christmas ones now.

Remember to look at Courtney's, Dani's, Heidi's, Lorie's, and Sarah's projects too!

Hanna Stamps September Release Party Challenge #1

The challenge was to use Fall colors. Easy enough...especially since I've been wanting to use some more of my Boom-Di-Ada paper. Plus, when its rainy and cold out, isn't it fun to just curl up with a blanket and a good book?!?

And someone will win the Jump for Joy set. The deadline is Monday 5pm Eastern Time. ETA: You have to upload your card to the Hanna Stamps Forum on Split Coast...they're the ones giving away the stamps. :)

Paper: CTMH Boom-di-ada
Stamps: Bookworm Hanna
Copic Markers, CTMH Buttons, Prima Flowers, Edge Distressing

Many have complimented on my coloring and I greatly appreciate it! I told Brent that since I got my Copics, my goal was to become a better colorer. I sound like a 5 year old, huh? But seriously, I read Marianne's blog every day. I try to take something she's talked about and apply it to my coloring. Thats why I shadow everything now, lol. But just the little things too, like using the blender pen and how to match the tones of colors. She's coming back to Seattle in November to do Copic Certification...I might try to get a day off work and go. :)

I went to Target and I didn't find my shirt. Long sleeves aren't in yet I guess. I'll just have to try again right before I leave on my trip. But I did get a few projects done. They had a lot picture frames on clearance...I should of bought more. I might go back and buy a bunch more for our up coming Gala pictures. Have a great Monday everyone...its back to work for me!
